Previous issue date: 2014-01-21 / This work lends itself to joint analysis of two corpora: the novel “Lavoura Arcaica” writer
Raduan Nassar, and his eponymous film, produced by Director Luiz Fernando Carvalho. The
analysis of the book it is guided in the study of space, according to the postulates of the
“Poetics of space”, the philosopher and theorist of imagination Gaston Bachelard, with
emphasis on the concepts of topophilia and topophobia and of his work. Still based in
phenomenology bachelardian, now under the foundations of the “Poetics of Reverie”,
emphasis will be given to the Word as one of the veins of the narrative, conductors the book
reveals the tone of poetic speech, as the hits of reverie or loathing of the protagonist. Under
another view, memory and identity, join the rave and daydream for together, appear as
constituent elements of the stream of consciousness that pervades the whole plot. With regard
to the analysis of the film Lavoura Arcaica, cinematic space emerges as filmic diegetic
element to be analyzed under the focus of the studies undertaken by narratologics André
Gaudreault and François Jost. The aim is to understanding how film sensitive construction
occurs in the cinematic image. Synesthesia and influences of the Expressionist movement are
portrayed as structural elements and stylistic in some scenes. The space as emotional and
memory synesthetic reconstruction, justifying distortions, unfocused and deletions of/on the
image to transmit all existential crisis experienced by the protagonist of the story, tragic
narrative that make both the novel and the film true masterpieces national literature and
Cinema. / O presente trabalho presta-se à análise conjunta de dois corpus: o romance “Lavoura
Arcaica” do escritor Raduan Nassar, e seu filme homônimo, produzido pelo cineasta
Luiz Fernando Carvalho. A análise do livro pauta-se no estudo do espaço, segundo os
postulados da “Poética do espaço”, do filósofo e teórico da imaginação Gaston
Bachelard, com ênfase nos conceitos de topofilia e topofobia extraídos de sua obra.
Ainda com base na fenomenologia bachelardiana, agora sob os fundamentos da “Poética
do Devaneio”, será dada ênfase à palavra como um dos veios condutores da narrativa,
que no livro revela-se pelo tom do discurso poético, conforme os acessos de devaneio
ou de delírio do protagonista. Sob outra perspectiva, memória e identidade, juntam-se
ao delírio e ao devaneio para juntos, figurarem como elementos constitutivos do fluxo
de consciência que perpassa todo o enredo. No que tange à análise do filme Lavoura
Arcaica, o espaço cinematográfico surge como elemento diegético fílmico a ser
analisado sob o enfoque dos estudos narratológicos empreendidos por André Gaudreault
e François Jost. Busca-se a compreensão de como no filme ocorre a construção do
sensível na imagem cinematográfica. Sinestesia e influências do movimento
Expressionista surgem como elementos estruturais e estilísticos na composição de
algumas cenas. O espaço como reconstrução emotiva e sinestésico da memória,
justificando distorções, desfocamentos e apagamentos da/na imagem para transmitir
toda crise existencial experimentada pelo protagonista da trama, narrativa trágica que
fazem tanto do romance quanto do filme verdadeiras obras-primas da Literatura e do
Cinema nacionais.
