This study describes how meaningfulness and learning are affected by the growth of an organization. The purpose of the study is to investigate and learn how employees experience their work as meaningful and how learning is affected by change processes and by the workplace growing. The purpose is also to have a discussion about what are success factors for how a company implements a change as smoothly as possible. Five semi-structured interviews were conducted at a company that has grown rapidly in the workforce over the past five years. The method for conducting the study is a qualitative method. To answer the study's three questions, we used a thematic analysis. In order to understand, interpret and analyze the interviews, we used socio-cultural theory with a focus on meaning-making, informal and formal learning and situated learning. The results show that meaningfulness and learning are affected both positively and negatively by an organization growing rapidly. Through good communication, mutual respect and understanding, the organization can avoid pitfalls in the process of driving change. This study contributes knowledge for organizations facing similar challenges. The study also contributes to a broader understanding of how employees experience various phenomena in a change process. The conclusions of the study are that a change involves positive and negative consequences, but if the management works with the factors that the informants mention as success factors, change will most likely be driven smoothly.
