The purpose of this study is to make visible guardians' perceptions of the preschool's role in society. The method we considered suitable to use in our study is questionnaires and the study is both qualitative and quantitative. We will use Habermas socially critical theory and we analyze the studie based on a phenomenographic analysis for the qualitative questions and a univariate analysis for the quantitative questions. The results of this study show that preschool is seen as important operation and the study shows that guardians have a certain understanding of the concept of education. The majority of respondents see the operation as a preschool while about one in three still see it as childcare. The conclusion of our study shows that communication between home and preschool can be improved.
