The aim with this study was to give and receive an insight of children’s participation during one day in a preschool. Answers we were interested in finding out were how pedagogues act in relation to children´s influence, participation and interests and how this shows in the pedagogical context. Our own interest of children´s participation was influenced by the new revised curriculum that took place in 2010. Nowadays the pedagogues’ have to be more active and reflect and document children´s influence and participation, and therefore we wanted to use this opportunity to create a picture of how pedagogues deal with these new guidelines. We have with an ethnographic inspired approach performed a qualitative study with data collected during one day with focus on children´s influence, participation and interest in one preschool section. According to the result children’s participation and influence this day were controlled by the pedagogue. The influence was limited to matters concerning how much food the children could take and with whom and where they wanted to play, both inside and outside. The two interviewed pedagogues painted a picture that children’s participation is voluntary and that child’s interest affects the preschools’ everyday contents, especially when the pedagogue plan a theme. Communication was seen as the best method for finding out about child’s interests. / Syftet med denna studie var att få och ge en inblick av hur barns delaktighet, inflytande och intresse kommer till uttryck i förskolans vardag. Frågor vi sökte svar på var hur pedagoger förhåller sig till barns inflytande, delaktighet och intresse samt hur detta speglar sig i den pedagogiska verksamheten. Något som påverkat vårt eget intresse kring begreppen är den revidering av läroplanen för förskolan (Lpfö 98) som genomfördes under 2010. Numera ska pedagogerna mer aktivt och medvetet reflektera och dokumentera barns inflytande och delaktighet och vi ville med denna studie även ge en bild av hur pedagoger förhåller sig till dessa nya riktlinjer. Vi har med inspiration från en etnografisk ansats genomfört en kvalitativ studie där data samlades in under en dag med fokus på barns inflytande, delaktighet och intresse på en förskoleavdelning. Resultatet visade att under denna dag var barns delaktighet, inflytande och intresse mestadels kontrollerat och lärarstyrt. Inflytandet var begränsat till val av sånger, hur mycket mat de ville ta samt vem/vad de ville leka med ute respektive inne. De två pedagoger som intervjuades gav en bild av att barns delaktighet är frivillig och att barns intresse styr verksamheten i de fall där framför allt teman planeras. Kommunikation var den metod som ansågs vara mest lämplig att använda för att ta reda på barns intresse.
