Syftet med uppsatsen är att belysa den principiella förändringen av svenska försvarsmaktensprestationsform från krigsförberedelser till aktiva militära operationer mot bakgrund av Clausewitzstrategiska teori. Författaren har använt hypotetisk – deduktiv slutledningsmetod.Följande resultat framkom av undersökningen: Sveriges strategiska ledning skiljer sig mycketavseende organisatoriska förutsättningar i fred från Storbritannien och Frankrike. Sverige haren erfarenhet av att i första hand styra försvarsmakten som strategiskt medel först i krig, vilkethar resulterat i ad hoc lösningar i kriser, exempelvis U 137-krisen. Vidare framkom avundersökningen att försvarsmakten har fyllt sin strategiska effekt genom att göra krigsförberedelserså att den strategiska ledningen har blivit underordnad den förvaltningsmässiga styrningen,vilken i huvudsak har täckt regeringens behov. Detta förhållande bör beaktas införframtiden om militära operationer skall användas i en ökad omfattning för krishantering. / The purpose of the essay was to analyse the principal change of strategic performance frompreparation for war to operations in the light of Clausewitz strategic theory. The method usedin the essay is hypothetic – deductive.The results of the survey showed that Swedish strategic command differs a great dealconcerning organizational conditions compare to UK and France in peacetime. That is mainlybecause of the Swedish strategic experience not to use the Armed Forces in peacetime as astrategic instrument. In time of crises, for example the soviet submarine crisis in 1981,showed that strategic command used ad hoc solutions instead of the ordinary chain ofcommand.The survey showed further that the Armed Forces has fulfilled their strategic effect by makingwar preparations with the consequences of making strategic command of secondaryimportance to defence management, which has covered the governments main purpose.
