Detta projekt är en sammanslagning av tre gymnasieskolor: ett nytt byggymnasium, Grillskas restauranggymnasium och Löfströms gymnasium med individuell inriktning. De båda befintliga skolorna får bättre lokaler: Grillska flyttar från bottenlokalerna i det Östra kontorshuset och får därmed ett bättre läge för sin restaurangverksamhet och Löfströms byter ett perofert läge vid Rissneleden mot ett centralt i Sundbybergs centrum. En utgångspunkt i projektet har varit att låta de olika skolornas verksamheter vara synliga och närvarande för alla som vistas i byggnaden, vilket bidrar till en intressant miljö och kan verka motiverande för de elever som ännu inte är behöriga till gymnasiet. Vidare underlättar det en flexibel skolgång och gör det möjligt för de som byter program att behålla sin gamla bekantskapskrets. Praktiska program som bygg- och restaurang är utbildningar som leder till jobb men som ofta har lågt söktryck, varför en annan bärande idé har varit att arkitekturen ska ge möjlighet för eleverna att visa upp vad de gör även utåt, mot staden. / This project is a union of three schools: a new high school with building focus, Grillska high school with restaurant education and Löfströms high school with individual education. The two existing schools get a better location: Grillska moves from the ground floot in the eastern office house on the site and Löfströms moves from a location in the periphery at Rissneleden to a more central i Sundbyberg. A main idea i the project has been to let the different activities in the school be visible to all those who are in the building, which contibrutes to an interesting environment and can be motivating for the students who have not yet the grades to get into real high school. It also facilitates a flexible schooling and makes it easier for those who changes program to keep their old friends. Practical programs often lead to a job but are usually not popular, which is the reason why another main goal in the project has been for the architecture to enable the students to show their work not only inside the school but also to the city.
