This essay aims to examine textbooks and digital textbooks for how they present new religious movements and secular world view in upper secondary school in Sweden. This essay also strives to examine if this presentation is non-confessional or non-religious. These results will then be compared between traditional textbooks and the digital textbooks. In total six textbooks are included in the study where of three are traditional and three are digital. The study shows that the textbooks are presenting new religious movements and secular world view from a historical and a character based perspective in most cases, the digital being less so. It has also shown that the digital textbooks don’t include new religious movements and that the traditional textbooks might be non-religious concerning secular life views and not at all concerning the new religious movements. For the digital textbooks, the results are inconclusive. Keywords:
