Föreliggande uppsats syftar till att presentera valmöjligheter och visa hur den svenskaamfibiska förmågan passar in i olika säkerhetspolitiska lösningar. Uppsatsen tydliggörnuvarande förmåga och ger en bild över olika sätt hur den amfibiska förmågan kanutvecklas. Problemformuleringen lyder: Hur kan olika koncept avseende svensk amfibiskförmåga utformas och utnyttjas i tidsperspektivet 2015-2025? I sex styckendelfrågeställningar besvaras vilka koncept medvidhängande motiv som finns idag, vilkadelförmågor som generellt ingår i koncepten och vilka förmågor Sverige saknar eller kanutveckla. Därefter redovisas och diskuteras hur olika svenska amfibiekoncept kan bildasoch utnyttjas i ett överordnat strategiskt och säkerhetspolitiskt sammanhang. Metoden harvarit en kvalitativ innehållsanalys med utnyttjande av olika analysinstrument i flera steg.Huvudsakliga källor har varit officiella rapporter, facktidskrifter och artiklar.Resultatet är att amfibiska systemkoncept kan utformas för att vara integrerade iNATO:s/EU:smilitära system, specialiserade för de svenska behoven och utgöranischförband i NATO/EU, utvecklade i huvudsak för de svenska behoven eller bestå avblandade grundkoncept. Den säkerhetspolitiska ambitionen, önskad handlingsfrihet ochsammanhanget med utformningen av andra delar av det militärstrategiska konceptetkommer ha stor betydelse för den slutliga utformningen av framtida amfibiekoncept. Detkoncept som i uppsatsen benämns Specialisering bedöms på bästa sätt möta olika framtidautvecklingar. / This essay presents different ways to develop Swedish amphibious capabilities indifferent contexts of future security policy. The Swedish perception of amphibiouscapabilities compared to 18 other countries today is clarified. The overall question is:How can different Swedish amphibious concepts be developed and utilized in 2015-2025? Results are presented by answering the following six questions:• Which kinds of amphibious concepts exist today in the world?• What are the motives for the composition of these concepts?• Which capabilities are there in an amphibious concept?• Which capabilities does Sweden lack or can Sweden develop more?• Which kinds of Swedish future concepts could be composed by differentcapabilities?• How does these concepts meet the demands of different military-strategicconcepts and security- policy solutions?The method has been a qualitative analysis by content in official reports, studies,literature and press. The results show that Swedish amphibious concepts can beshaped generally in four different ways:• Integrated in NATO/EU military systems,• Specialized for the Swedish defence system, but with a specific role in NATO/EUcrises management system,• Nationalized, meaning especially adopted to the Swedish national defence systemor• Mixed concepts with different force structures, capabilities and utilization for thenational defence and the international crises management operations.The most important factors influencing the composition of the future Swedishconcept are:• The Swedish ambition in the security policy,• Freedom of action and• The overall composition and development of the military strategic concept.The amphibious concept named Specialisation in the essay is the most suitable tomeet future changes in the security policy and in the military strategic context.Essential capabilities that can be further developed in a future Swedish amphibiousconcept are: Command and control of joint operations, integration with other arms(especially airforce), strategic and operational reach, tactical mobility through the airand on land, advanced intelligence systems, fire-support with extended range,forward presence, sustainability and readiness. / Avdelning: ALB - Slutet Mag 3 C-upps.Hylla: Upps.
