The purpose of the study was to investigate whether there are any connections between the secondary school pupils' goal orientation, their perceived motivation climate and whether the different directions and the climate affect whether the pupils experience joy in participating in the teaching of physical education. The sample for the survey is 125 pupils from a secondary school in Värmland. It emerged that the students had to a somewhat greater extent a task-oriented goal orientation and that they to a greater extent experienced a more task-oriented motivational climate. The students who had a task-oriented goal orientation experienced greater joy in participating in sports education compared to those who had an ego-oriented goal orientation. In addition, it emerged that the students who experienced the motivational climate as task oriented to a much greater extent experienced joy to participate in the teaching. The pupils who experienced the motivation climate as ego-oriented experienced almost no joy at all to participate in the teaching. / Undersökningens syfte var att undersöka huruvida det finns några samband mellan högstadieelevers målinriktning, deras upplevda motivationsklimat och huruvida de olika inriktningarna och klimaten påverkar om eleverna upplever glädje till att delta i undervisningen av idrott och hälsa. Urvalet för undersökningen är 125 elever från en högstadieskola i Värmland. Det framkom att eleverna i något högre grad hade en i huvudsak uppgiftsorienterad målinriktning samt att de i högre grad upplevde ett mer uppgiftsorienterat motivationsklimat. De elever som hade en uppgiftsorienterad målinriktning upplevde högre glädje till att delta i idrottsundervisningen jämfört med de elever som hade en resultatorienterad målinriktning. Därtill framgick det att de elever som upplevde motivationsklimatet som uppgiftsorienterat i mycket högre grad upplevde glädje till att delta i undervisningen. De elever som upplevde motivationsklimatet som resultatorienterat upplevde nästan ingen glädje alls till att delta i undervisningen.
