Syftet med vår studie var att undersöka hur pedagogerna beskriver sitt språkstimulerande arbete i förskolan. Vi ville även ta del av vilket stöd pedagogerna hade möjlighet att få från specialpedagog i förebyggande syfte gällande det språkstimulerande arbetet. Vi valde att göra en kvalitativ undersökning i form av halvstrukturerade intervjuer med fem pedagoger verksamma på olika förskolor med barn i åldrarna 1-5 år. Resultatet av vår studie visade att språkstimuleringen genomsyrade hela verksamheten och att pedagogerna såg sitt eget förhållningssätt och barnens trygghet som viktigt i det språkstimulerande arbetet. Pedagogerna använde sig av ett rikt utbud av material och metoder och anpassade verksamheten i möjligaste mån efter barnens nivå. Alla pedagoger menade att språket utvecklas och stimuleras i samspel med andra. Vi bedömde att pedagogerna hade mycket begränsad möjlighet till förebyggande stöd och handledning från specialpedagog men alla önskade denna form av samverkan för en pedagogisk utveckling / The aim with our study was to examine how the pedagogues describe the language stimulating spirit work in preschool. We also wanted to see what aid pedagogues had the possibility to get from special pedagogues in keeping the spirit of the language stimulating the work. We chose to do a qualitative survey in the form of partly structured interviews with five pedagogues active at different preschools with children in the ages 1-5 years. The result of our study showed that language stimulation stimulates the entire activity and that the pedagogues consider their own attitude and the childrens´ safety as important in the language stimulating work. Pedagogues used a wide range of materials and methods and adjusted the activity in the best possible way according to the level of the children. All pedagogues mean that the language is developed and stimulated in cooperation with others. We concluded that the pedagogues had a very limited possibility to get preventing aid and guidance from a special pedagogue, but all wanted this form of cooperation for a better pedagogical development.
