Barns lärande i leken : Utifrån ett pedagogiskt perspektiv / Children’s learning in play from an educational perspective

The purpose of this study is to examine children's learning in play from a pedagogical perspective. To find out the educators' views on the concepts of play and learning and how play can be used as a tool in preschool learning, we chose to conduct interviews with some educators at different preschools. The interviews were our primary source for collecting empirical evidence that was current, relevant, and credible.  The questions used in this study and that has guided our work are following:  1. How do pre-school educators view the concepts of play and learning and their context? 2. According to the educators, how can play be used as a tool for learning? The results from this study show that educators in preschool see a strong connection between the concepts of play and learning and there is a clear connection between these. The results also show that play can be used as a functional tool for learning and can be used by educators in several different ways. Play promotes children's development based on many different aspects. To understand and be able to interpret our results, we have used the socio-cultural perspective as a starting point in this study and several different play theories as well as previous research on the area when we analyzed our results.
