Under det senaste året har migrationsströmmarna till Sverige ökat markant, i huvudsak som en följd av inbördeskriget i Syrien. De stora migrationsströmmarna har haft en stor påverkan på polisernas arbetsuppgifter och därför undersöker denna studie hur arbetsuppgifterna förändrats, vilka polisernas attityder, åsikter och uppfattningar om arbetsförändringarna är och huruvida poliserna anser att arbetet med migrationsströmmarna hade kunnat utföras på ett annat sätt och av någon annan aktör. Forskning har visat att polisers arbetsprestationer påverkas av deras arbetstillfredsställelse. Den tidigare forskningen har under de senaste åren skiftat fokus från att undersöka arbetstillfredsställelsen i relation till demografiska variabler till att istället undersöka arbetstillfredsställelsen i relation till arbetsrelaterade variabler, där de arbetsrelaterade variablerna visat sig kunna förklara variationen bättre. Resultaten av den föreliggande studien visar att majoriteten av poliserna var samstämmiga i sina svar och poliserna berättade exempelvis att arbetsuppgifterna påverkats mycket av migrationsströmmarna, framförallt i form av de införda gränskontrollerna. Poliserna hade uppfattningen att deras arbetsuppgifter var enformiga och tråkiga, men utförde ändå sina arbetsuppgifter så bra som möjligt. En stor del av poliserna ansåg även att fler civila passkontrollanter hade kunnat närvara vid kontrollerna och att poliserna således hade kunnat vara färre. Ett genomgående resultat visade att poliserna som en följd av de stora migrationsströmmarna var begränsade i sin förmåga att uppfylla sitt uppdrag och arbeta i enlighet med Polisens värdegrund. / During the past year, the migration to Sweden has increased significantly, mainly as a result of the civil war in Syria. The large migratory movements have affected the police officers’ work considerably and therefore this study aims to examine in what way their work has changed as a result of the migrations. The study also aims to examine the police officers’ attitudes, opinions and perceptions of their work changes and whether the police officers believe that the work with the migration could be done in a different way and by another organisation. Research has shown that police officers' performance is affected by their job satisfaction. Previous research has in recent years shifted from examining job satisfaction in relation to demographic variables to examining job satisfaction in relation to work-related variables instead, where the work-related variables have been able to explain the variation better. The results of the present study show that the majority of the officers were unanimous in their response and the responding police officers explained that their work had been greatly affected by the migration, particularly in terms of border controls. The police officers also considered their work to be monotonous and boring, but still performed their best. A large proportion of the police officers felt that more civilian passport controllers could be able to attend the border controls and in that way the same amount of police officers would not be needed at the border controls. A recurring result showed that the police officers, as a result of the large migratory movements, were limited in their ability to achieve their mission and work in accordance with the Police values.
