The aim of this essay is to gain more knowledge of how teachers reason when they construct tests in accounting in the business program in upper secondary school in Sweden. The study uses a qualitative method of inquiry interviewing four business teachers in the business program. The teachers interviewed in this essay say that they are highly influenced by the student´s textbooks and what these bring up. According to the teachers interviewed in this study the content of the tests is designed in accordance with the curricula, however it is difficult to design tests that differentiate students’ knowledge, and as such grades, as described in the curriculum for the business course.
