Sammanfattning/Abstract Det här examensarbetet handlar om problematisk skolfrånvaro och hur skolan genom att inta ett salutogent perspektiv kan jobba med framgångsfaktorer för en ökad skolnärvaro. Vi redogör för tidigare forskning om orsaker till frånvaro och insatser för att öka närvaro. Vi har genomfört ett antal intervjuer, och genom tematisk analys kodat svaren i teman. Dessa teman förankrar vi i aktuell forskning för att sedan dra slutsatser utifrån respondenternas svar. Vi utgår dessutom från två perspektiv: det salutogena och det socialekologiska. Enligt det förra så är det viktigt med begriplighet, förutsägbarhet och meningsfullhet för eleven. Enligt det senare så spelar hela livssituationen en avgörande roll för välbefinnande hos den enskilda eleven. Vi har delat in våra teman i tre delar, som utgår från i vilken fas skolan befinner sig i vad gäller arbetet med skolfrånvaro. Dessa delar utgör förebyggande arbete, åtgärder samt reparerande insatser. Våra resultat visar bland annat att den personliga relationen mellan lärare och elev är viktig. Vidare visar resultaten att det är viktigt med en känsla av sammanhang i hela elevens kontext. / This thesis addresses problematic school absenteeism and how schools can work on success factors for increased attendance by adopting a salutogenic perspective. We review previous research on the causes of absenteeism and interventions to increase attendance. We conducted a series of interviews and used thematic analysis to code the responses into themes. These themes are anchored in current research, from which we draw conclusions based on the respondents' answers. Additionally, we approach the issue from two perspectives: the salutogenic and the social-ecological. According to the former, it is important for students to have comprehensibility, predictability, and meaningfulness. According to the latter, the overall life situation plays a crucial role in the well-being of the individual student. We have divided our themes into three parts, based on the phase the school is in regarding work with absenteeism. These parts consist of preventive work, interventions, and remedial measures. Our results show, among other things, that the personal relationship between teacher and student is important. Furthermore, the results indicate that a sense of coherence in the student's entire context is essential.
