Trauma definieras som skador som uppkommer av kraftigt våld. Dessa skador kan medföra hot mot individens liv och hälsa eller risk för allvarlig kvarstående funktionsnedsättning. Med den åldrande populationen i samhället finns ett behov av ändring av fokus i traumaomhändertagandet och omvårdnaden. Äldre patienter har en högre risk för komplikationer samt dödlighet vid trauman då den äldre patienten har minskade fysiologiska funktioner och ändrade reserv- och reparationskapaciteter. Syftet med denna studie var att belysa faktorer som påverkar den äldres omvårdnad i traumaomhändertagandet. För denna studie genomfördes en litteraturöversikt. Sökningar gjordes i Pubmed och Cinahl och 15 vetenskapliga artiklar valdes ut. Data analyserades genom en integrerad analys där resultatet sammanställdes och presenterades i resultattabell. Denna studie identifierade två huvudkategorier och totalt fem underkategorier. De huvudkategorier som uppenbarades var betydelsen av specialistkunskap och standardiserade arbetssätt i omvårdnaden av den äldre traumapatienten. I de 15 artiklar som hittades till denna studie framkom bland annat att specialistsjuksköterskans kompetens, advanced care planning, att arbeta i team, strukturerat arbetssätt, kontinuitet och identifiering av risker var faktorer som hade betydelse för omvårdnaden och omhändertagandet för den äldre traumapatienten. Denna studie belyser faktorer som påverkar omvårdnaden och omhändertagandet för den äldre traumapatienten, dessa faktorer kan hjälpa vården att identifiera den äldres behov. Att utveckla vårdprogram för de äldre traumapatienterna, öka specialistkunskaper hos vårdpersonalen, arbeta med rutiner och identifiering av risker samt att arbeta mer utifrån den äldres egna mål skulle påverka omhändertagande av den äldre traumapatienten positivt. / Trauma is defined as injuries that arise from severe violence. These injuries can pose a threat to the individual's life and health or a risk of severe permanent disability. With the aging population in society, there is a need to change the focus in trauma care and nursing. Elderly patients have a higher risk of complications and mortality from trauma as the elderly patient has reduced physiological functions and altered reserve and repair capabilities. The purpose of this study was to shed light on factors that affect the elderly's nursing in trauma care. A literature review was conducted for this study. Searches were conducted in Pubmed and Cinahl and 15 scientific articles were selected. Data were analyzed through an integrated analysis where the results were compiled and presented in the results table. This study identified two main categories and a total of five subcategories. The main categories that were revealed were the importance of specialist knowledge and standardized working methods in the care of the elderly trauma patient. In the 15 articles found for this study, it emerged, among other things, that the specialist nurse's competence, advanced care planning, working in teams, structured working methods, continuity and identification of risks were factors that were important for the nursing and care of the elderly trauma patient. This study highlights factors that affect the care and nursing of the elderly trauma patient, these factors can help the care to identify the elderly's needs. Developing care programs for the elderly trauma patients, increasing specialist knowledge of the care staff, working with routines and identifying risks and working more based on the elderly's own goals would have a positive effect on the care of the elderly trauma patient.
