<p>This essay discusses my proposed collection of short stories. The aim has been to examine the texts in terms of form and thematics, and position of the texts in a social context. First I present the collection, and then look at the texts from stylistic angle. I have chosen to use the concept of descriptive style. I have picked out certain parts of my texts in order to see which effect they have on the reader (in this case I). I go on to describe the work process. Finally, I analyse why I have written the way I have, if I am satisfied with the result, and how the texts can be linked to a contemporary context.</p><p>I am both satisfied and unsatisfied with the result. Certain things are good; others can still be improved. I have become more aware of thematics and my style while working on the essay.</p><p>I need to delete certain over-explanations and comments from the narrator. I need to sharpen the approaches, streamline certain endings. In many parts, the short stories can still made more concise. The language can also become less paratactic. I should like to insert further short stories in the collection in order to create a counterpoint, preferably with female protagonists. I will also decide the order of the short stories to achieve the best-combined effect. Furthermore, I must reflect on about the title for each short story, and decide what name to give the collection.</p><p>My texts relate to contemporary society and context largely by describing the disorientation of men in a time of new alignment, where old gender roles exist in parallel with entirely new ones.</p> / <p>Denna självreflekterande uppsats handlar om min blivande novellsamling.</p><p>Syftet har varit att undersöka texterna avseende form och innehåll och texternas placering i en samhällelig kontext. Först presenterar jag samlingen översiktligt. Sedan tar jag upp texterna ur stilistisk vinkel. Jag har valt att använda ett deskriptivt stilbegrepp. Jag har plockat ut vissa delar av mina texter för att se vilken effekten är på läsaren (i detta fall jag själv). Sedan beskriver jag arbetsprocessen. Slutligen analyserar jag varför jag skrivit som jag gjort, vad som varit svårt och om jag är nöjd med resultatet och hur texterna kan kopplas till samtiden.</p><p>Jag är både nöjd och missnöjd med resultatet. Vissa saker är bra, andra kan fortfarande bli mycket bättre. Jag har blivit mer medveten om min tematik och min stil under arbetet med uppsatsen.</p><p>Jag kommit fram till att jag behöver ta bort vissa överförklaringar, berättarkommentarer. Jag behöver vässa anslagen, renodla vissa slut. På många ställen kan texterna ännu bli mer koncisa. Språket kan också bli mindre parataktiskt. Jag har tänkt stoppa in några fler noveller i samlingen för att skapa en kontrapunkt, gärna med kvinnor i huvudrollen. Jag ska också bestämma ordningen på novellerna så att de samspelar på bästa sätt. Vidare måste jag fundera på om titlarna för varje novell är de bästa, samt bestämma vad samlingen ska ha för namn.</p><p>Mina texter förhåller sig till samtiden främst genom att de skildrar mäns vilsenhet i en tid av nyorientering där gamla könsroller lever parallellt med helt nya.</p>
