Bakgrund: Vård vid livets slutskede innebär att sjuksköterskan lindrar patientens lidande och främjar livskvaliteten. Närstående ska också vara delaktiga i vården. Personcentrerad vård innebär att sjuksköterskan ser helheten kring patienten och formar vården utifrån patientens behov och önskemål. Sjuksköterskor kan uppleva att vården vid livets slutskede är komplex och tycker därför att vissa situationer är svårhanterliga.Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt är att beskriva patientens upplevelse av vad som är viktigt i vård vid livets slutskede.Metod: En litteraturöversikt där resultatet baseras på 17 vetenskapliga artiklar. Analysen ledde till att resultatet kunde presenteras i fyra teman.Resultat: Resultatets fyra teman är: Skapa en relation, Bemötande och helhetssyn, Kommunikation och information samt Närståendes betydelse för patienter vid livets slutskede. Dessa teman visades vara viktiga för patienter i vård vid livets slutskede.Slutsats: Patienter upplever att det i vård vid livets slutskede är viktigt att skapa en relation med sjuksköterskan, bli bemötta utifrån en helhetssyn, kommunicera och få information samt att närstående inkluderas i patientens vård. / Background: End of life care means that the nurse alleviates the patient´s suffering and promotes the quality of life. Relatives must also be involved in the care. Person centered care means that the nurse has a holistic view of the patient and shapes the care based on the patient´s needs and wishes. Nurses may experience that end of life care is complex and therefore find certain situations difficult to handle.Aim: The aim of this study is to describe the patient´s experience of what is important in end of life care.Method: A literature review where the result are based on 17 scientific articles. Through the analysis the content of the articles have been presented in four themes.Result: The four themes of the result are: Creating a relationship, Meeting and holistic view, Communication and information, and the Importance of close relatives for patients at the end of life. These themes were shown to be important to patients in end of life care.Conclusion: Patients experience that it is important to create a relationship with the nurse, to be treated from a holistic perspective, communicate and receive information, and that relatives are included in the patient´s care.
