Stämmer det stöd kvinnorna erbjuds överens med kvinnornas behov? Vem formulerar de behov som styr det stöd kvinnorna erbjuds? Tidigare studier visar att begreppet hemlös-het är svårt att definiera och det stöd som erbjuds inte alltid stämmer överens med det behov kvinnorna anser sig ha. En kvalitativ intervjustudie med fyra hemlösa kvinnor i Lunds kommun genomfördes. I resultatet framkommer dels informan-ternas personliga erfarenheter, dels deras generella uppfattning om andra hemlösa kvinnors situation samt konkreta förslag utifrån formulerade behov. Sammanfatt-ningsvis visar denna studie att hemlösa kvinnor inte uppfattar att socialtjänsten ger stöd efter behov utan oftare ställer krav och utgör en kontroll. Kvinnorna upp-lever att de är rättslösa, inte har något samhällsvärde och är dömda på förhand. Resultatet visar även att kvinnornas situation inte på något positivt sätt kan relate-ras till det nationella folkhälsomålet och dess målområden. / Johansson, K. “A need to pee between 9 am – 7 pm”. Malmö University: Health and Society, Institution for Biomedical Laboratory Science, Public Health and Nursing, 2005.The aim of this study is to find out how homeless women in Lund experience their situation in life and the offered support. Does the offered support correspond with their needs? Who determines the needs that form the basis of the offered support? Previous studies show that homelessness is difficult to define, and that offered support not always matches the needs of the women. A qualitative interview study with four homeless women was performed. The results show on the one hand per-sonal experiences of the informants and on the other hand their opinion in general about the situation for other homeless women and also tangible suggestions in accordance with formulated needs. In summary, this study shows that homeless women do not experience Social Services to give support in accordance with their needs but more often make demands and exercise control. The women feel them-selves to be without legal rights, to have no value or social status and in general judged inadvance. The results also show that the situation of those women can in no positive way connect to the Public Health programme and its strategies.
