Previous issue date: 2015-07-30 / O trabalho teve como objetivo investigar o potencial educativo do Facebook, utilizando-o
como ferramenta para favorecer o ensino em biologia, complementando às aulas presenciais,
possibilitando a construção do conhecimento de forma colaborativa e coletiva, através da
troca de informações. Para isto, realizou-se a criação de um grupo, denominado Biologia, na
rede social Facebook; no qual os alunos foram convidados a participar como membros.
Durante o período de aplicação do projeto foram trabalhadas atividades diferenciadas dentro
do referido grupo, no qual os alunos puderam participar através de publicações e/ou
comentários sobre os conteúdos que vinham sendo estudados na disciplina de biologia. O uso
da plataforma buscou a interação entre os discentes, a troca de informações professor-aluno, o
compartilhamento de materiais e discussões sobre os assuntos relacionados à disciplina. Ao
final da aplicação da proposta, foram observadas as participações dos discentes nas
atividades, além de discutir-se sobre as redes colaborativas estabelecidas no grupo Biologia.
Concluindo-se que o Facebook contribuiu de forma positiva para a participação dos discentes
no processo de construção do conhecimento coletivo, além de contribuir para um aumento do
número de interações entre os colegas. Por fim, salienta-se a importância de tentar-se inovar a
prática de ensino, a partir da exploração de novas ferramentas, que podem favorecer os
processos de aprendizagem e construção do conhecimento. / The study aimed to investigate the educational potential of Facebook, using it as a tool to
support education in biology, complementing the on-site classes, enabling the construction of
knowledge collaboratively and collectively, through the exchange of information. For this,
there was the creation of a group called Biology on Facebook social network; in which
students were invited to participate as members. During the project implementation period,
differentiated activities were worked within the group, in which students were able to
participate through publications and / or comments on the contents that were being studied in
biology discipline. The use of the platform sought the interaction between the students, the
teacher-student exchange information, materials sharing and discussions on matters related to
the discipline. At the end of the implementation of the proposal, the participation of students
in the activities were observed, as well as to discuss on the collaborative networks established
in Biology group. Concluding that Facebook has contributed positively to the participation of
students in the construction of collective knowledge process, and contribute to an increase in
the number of interactions among colleagues. Finally, it highlights the importance of trying to
innovate the teaching practice, from the exploration of new tools that can foster learning
processes and knowledge building.
