Previous issue date: 2015-03-25 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / A compreensão de gênero social em sociedades contemporâneas ainda passa pela coerência socialmente imposta entre sexo - gênero - desejo - práticas, e, por isso, os gêneros inteligíveis são regulados por uma coerência na qual um ser que nasce com uma anatomia masculina deveria ser masculino, desejar mulheres e manter relações sexuais ativas com elas. Discussões e debates acerca do gênero e da sexualidade se fazem cada vez mais presentes e constantes nos mais diferentes âmbitos. Acreditamos que a mídia exerce grande influência no repensar das construções identitárias e das representações. Infelizmente, muitas vezes percebemos que questões complexas em relação ao gênero ainda não recebem um tratamento mais justo, ou seja, uma veiculação mais imparcial, ampla, mais informativa e menos avaliativa, sem reducionismos e ironias, nos grandes meios midiáticos, sejam eles impressos ou digitais. Neste estudo, propomo-nos analisar os discursos midiáticos em que circulam construções identitárias e representações sócio- discursivas da cartunista Laerte Coutinho, assim como das trans (pessoas que não se enquadram no padrão binário macho x fêmea/feminino x masculino), de forma a apontar o papel desses discursos na atualidade/modernidade. Foram selecionados 8 textos provenientes de diversos veículos midiáticos online e publicados entre 2010 e 2013. O material coletado foi analisado sob o viés teórico-metodológico da Análise de Discurso Crítica (FAIRCLOUGH, 1989, 1992, 1995, 2001, 2003; CHOULIARAKI & FAIRCLOUGH, 1999), da Teoria da Representação dos Atores Sociais (VAN LEEUWEN, 1996, 2005), da Teoria Queer (BUTLER, 2008), com suporte da Teoria da Avaliatividade (WHITE, 2004; VIAN JR., 2009) e da ferramenta computacional Wordsmith Tools (SCOTT, 2004). Percebeu-se uma clara distinção entre a representação sócio-discursiva da Laerte (diferença = diversidade) perante as trans (diferença = exclusão), por meio, principalmente, da inclusão, exclusão, nomeação, funcionalização, avaliações negativas e positivas, sobreposição e subjulgamento da agência. Constatou- se o valor potencial da linguagem na manutenção, produção e transformação das representações, através das escolhas linguístico-discursivas e dos investimentos nas construções de significações e nas nomeações utilizadas para se referir às pessoas, ao processo de travestilidade e à identidade de gênero. Ademais, contemplamos a ixreflexividade no desvelar das contradições, dos dilemas e dos antagonismos, materializados em discursos com os mais diversos propósitos, na capacidade dos indivíduos construírem ativamente suas identidades, em construções reflexivas de sua atividade na vida social, bem como no processo de construção e desconstrução/ contestação das identidades sociais fragmentadas no/pelo discurso. / Understanding gender in contemporary societies also includes the socially imposed coherence between sex - gender - desire - practices, and therefore intelligible genres are regulated by a consistency in which someone who is born with a male anatomy should be/behave as a male, wish women and have sex with them. Discussions and debates about gender and sexuality are increasingly present and constant in many different areas. We believe the media has a great influence on the rethinking of identity constructions and representations. Unfortunately, too often we see some complex issues concerning gender still do not receive proper treatment, a more impartial and comprehensive placement without reductionism and ironies, more informative and less evaluative, in large media means, whether printed or digital. In this study, we aim to analyze identity constructions and socio-discursive representations of the cartoonist Laerte Coutinho as well as the trans (people who do not fit in the binarism male x female/feminine x masculine), in the media discourse, and point out the possible role of xithose speeches in the late modernity. To develop this research we selected 8 texts from different digital media vehicles which were published between 2010 and 2013. The material was analyzed based on the theoretical and methodological approach of the Critical Discourse Analysis (FAIRCLOUGH, 1989, 1992, 1995, 2001, 2003; CHOULIARAKI & FAIRCLOUGH, 1999), Representation of Social Actors (VAN LEEUWEN, 1996, 2005), Queer Theory (BUTLER, 2008), the Theory of Appraisal (WHITE, 2004; VIAN JR, 2009) and the computational tool Wordsmith Tools (SCOTT, 2004) of the studies of Corpus Linguistics (SARDINHA, 2004). It was noticed a clear distinction between the social and discursive representation of Laerte (difference = diversity) in opposition to the trans (difference = exclusion) mainly through inclusion, exclusion, nominalization, functionalization, negative and positive evaluation, emphasizing or not the agency. It was also observed the potential value of language in the maintenance, production and change of the representations through linguistic-discursive choices and investments in the meaning-making used to refer to the transgender, the process and gender identity.
