Educational Policies of the Graduate Program in Education of UFG searched to deal with the historical route of the primary education in Boa Vista do Tocantins, nowadays Tocantinópolis city, north of Tocantins in the period between 1850-1896. The analysis encompasses an understanding of the process of a school s place creation in the scope of the school policy of the province and of the history of Boa Vista as a frontier place in the extreme north of Goiás. From the confluence of both came the social reality and the needs and limits of the
schools from the materialization of resources to the functioning of the schools, as well as the mechanisms of power brought by the catechism precepts and from the instances of power in the political conflicts in the region during the 19th century. The time of the research attended the documental sources composed of written and printed registers between the time of the creation of the schools to the revolution in 1890 with the advent of the Republic.The investigation allowed us to understand historically the place of the school as space of confluence to the social and political dynamics and the tension and forces in a frontier local. The theoretical treatment and the proceedings of document reading prioritized among other approaches the representations and social arrangements intermediated by the school in the scope of a civilizing process implemented by the state. In the picture of practices and actions taken,the visibility of a school place did not differ from house-school to the headquarters of the Revolution. It showed the ways the Brazilian public instruction had made and in particular
the frontier-place it had occupied. / A presente tese, vinculada à linha de pesquisa Estado
e Políticas Educacionais do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da UFG, buscou tratar do percurso histórico da instrução primária em Boa Vista do Tocantins, atual cidade de
Tocantinópolis, norte do Tocantins, no período de 1850 a 1896. A análise versou pelo entendimento ao processo de criação de um lugar de escola no âmbito da política de
escolarização da província e as especificidades históricas de Boa Vista como um lugar de fronteira , no extremo norte de Goiás. Da confluência de ambos respondeu a realidade social
em questão, as necessidades e limites das escolas na materialização dos recursos ao funcionamento das aulas, como da representação dos mecanismos de poder instaurados ainda nos preceitos advindos da catequese e das instâncias de poder nos conflitos políticos sedimentados na região ao longo do século XIX. O recorte temporal da pesquisa atendeu as fontes documentais composta pelos registros manuscritos e impressos entre o período de criação das escolas ao tempo da revolução nos anos de 1890, com os adventos da República. A investigação possibilitou apreender historicamente o lugar da escola como espaço de confluência à dinâmica social e política, tecida pelas relações de força e tensão numa localidade de fronteira. O tratamento teórico e os procedimentos de leitura documental priorizaram, entre outros aportes, as representações e práticas que versaram sobre sertão e fronteira, como dos preceitos e dispositivos sociais intermediados pela escola no âmbito de um processo civilizador implantado pelo Estado. No conjunto das práticas e ações empreendidas a visibilidade de um lugar de escola não diferiu entre a materialidade da casa-escola ao quartel da revolução e na expressividade social evidenciou os caminhos percorridos pela instrução pública no Brasil e em particular por um "lugar de fronteira".
