Trata-se de pesquisa teórica e leitura da composição narrativa e da tríplice temática em Leonor de Mendonça, de Gonçalves Dias, e Calabar: o elogio da traição, de Chico Buarque, em parceria com Ruy Guerra. Desta maneira, as leituras configuram-se sob duas vertentes: a textual, relativa à composição narrativa, e a temática, relativa ao amor, à traição e à violência. A dissertação inicia-se, à guisa de prólogo, com as considerações gerais atinentes à intencionalidade do projeto, à identificação do corpus e ao conjunto e sistema da dissertação; à fundamentação teórica da narrativa dramática e dos temas amor, traição e violência; e aos caminhos para concretizá-la. O contorno do contexto social e estético do drama histórico na literatura dramática brasileira (séculos XIX e XX) dimensiona o segundo momento. Dedicado a Gonçalves Dias, o terceiro momento enfoca o perfil de sua produção dramática e a dupla leitura de Leonor de Mendonça, pelo viés da construção da narrativa e pela urdidura dos três temas. Ordenado, primeiro, pela produção dramática de Chico Buarque e, na sequência, pela dupla leitura de Calabar: o elogio da traição, consolida-se o quarto momento. Encerra-se a dissertação, à guisa de epílogo, com três etapas: na primeira delas dispõem-se, em breves colocações de confronto, as convergências e as divergências estruturais e temáticas do corpus; na segunda, abre-se espaço às reflexões a respeito da constatação das renovações e inovações do drama histórico na dramaturgia brasileira atual; na terceira, possibilita-se pensar e esboçar outras maneiras de leitura das peças. / The dissertation aims to read the themes of love, betrayal and violence in two Brazilian dramatic texts. It deals with a theoretical research and the reading of the narrative composition and the triple thematic line of Leonor de Mendonça, by Gonçalves Dias, and Calabar: o elogio da traição, by Chico Buarque in partnership with Ruy Guerra. Thus, the readings encompass two parts: the textual, related to the narrative composition, and the thematic, that focuses on love, betrayal and violence. The dissertation begins with general considerations on the intentionality of the project, the identification of the corpus and the nature of the dissertation; on the theoretical foundation of dramatic narrative and the themes of love, betrayal and violence as well as the ways to produce it. A social and aesthetic outline of Brazilian historical drama within Brazilian drama, restricted to the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, constitutes the second stage of the work. Dedicated to Gonçalves Dias, the third stage comprises an overview of his dramatic production and the double reading of Leonor de Mendonça, focusing on its narrative composition and on its three themes. The fourth stage is dedicated, first, to the dramatic production of Chico Buarque, followed by the double reading (narrative and thematic) of Calabar: o elogio da traição. The dissertation closes with three phases: in the first one, in short placements of confrontation, the convergences and divergences between the scrutinized texts are presented; in the second, reflections are made about the renovations and innovations of the historical drama in the current Brazilian drama; in the third, suggestions are made about thinking and working out other ways of reading the plays.
