Previous issue date: 2007-02-27 / Esta pesquisa tem como objeto de estudo o processo de formação e configuração da Arquivística como disciplina científica no Brasil. Aponta três questões centrais: qual é a trajetória dessa formação; como a Arquivística se configura no campo científico; e quais são as suas relações com as outras disciplinas nesse processo. A hipótese norteadora é a de que a configuração do campo científico da Arquivística é igual à interação entre o seu campo disciplinar e extradisciplinar. Nesse sentido, tem como objetivo geral compreender a trajetória dessa formação e configuração, os espaços e vínculos da Arquivística na Universidade, seus movimentos e diálogos com as outras disciplinas e áreas do conhecimento e o papel das associações de arquivistas nessa trajetória. Como objetivos específicos, retraça a história da criação dos Cursos de graduação em Arquivologia no Brasil; identifica o locus acadêmicoinstitucional da disciplina e avalia as razões dos seus vínculos nas universidades; mapeia a formação dos docentes desses Cursos, os eventos de caráter científico promovidos pelas associações de arquivistas e a produção científica com temáticas relacionadas à área. Como um estudo descritivo, todas as suas fases mostram-se interdependentes, a partir da reconstrução da trajetória histórica da área – estudo explicativo, baseado no Método da História Cruzada. O universo da pesquisa compreende todos os Cursos de Arquivologia do Brasil (inclusive o corpo docente), as associações de arquivistas, os Programas de Pósgraduação em Ciência da Informação e aqueles com linhas de pesquisa, identificados por nós como sendo possível desenvolver pesquisa com temas arquivísticos e as pessoas que participaram da criação do Curso de Arquivologia da UnB. Os procedimentos metodológicos consistem no levantamento e fontes primárias e da bibliografia relacionada à Arquivística e daquela que subsidia o estudo dos contornos das suas relações extradisciplinares; pesquisa documental no Fundo Arquivo Nacional (RJ), no acervo do CEDOC da UnB e na publicação Mensário do Arquivo Nacional; questionários endereçados aos docentes dos Cursos de graduação em Arquivologia; realização de entrevistas com pessoas que participaram do processo de criação e implantação do Curso de Arquivologia da UnB; pesquisas nos sítios das universidades que abrigam Cursos de Arquivologia, nos sítios das associações de arquivistas, nos sítios dos Programas de Pós-graduação em Ciência da Informação e aqueles mais próximos à Arquivística e no Banco de Teses da CAPES; envio de correspondências a essas associações e aos Cursos de Biblioteconomia do Brasil. A análise da trajetória da Arquivística no Brasil demonstra que a sua formação, como disciplina, parece ter sido conseqüência direta e imediata da necessidade prática de habilitação de profissionais especializados para o tratamento e organização dos arquivos brasileiros, com grande participação do Arquivo Nacional e das associações de arquivistas, sobretudo da AAB. Além disso, a sua configuração atual parece ser decorrente dos diálogos estabelecidos com outras disciplinas, quanto aos vínculos institucionais dos seus Cursos de graduação, quanto à formação/titulação dos docentes desses Cursos e quanto à produção científica, com temáticas relacionadas à área. Esses três aspectos apontam para uma intensa proximidade entre a Arquivística e Ciência da Informação, embora a sua trajetória seja marcada pela tradição histórica. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This research has as main object of study the process of formation and configuration of the Archival Science as it discipline scientific in Brazil. It points three central questions: which is the trajectory of this formation, as the Archival Science is configured in the scientific area and which are its relations with the others disciplines in this process. The hypothesis is of that the configuration of the scientific area of the Archival Science is equal to the interaction between its area and the over that area. In this direction, it has as main objective to understand the trajectory of this formation and configuration, the spaces and bonds of the Archival Science in the university, its movements and dialogues with the others disciplines and areas of the knowledge and the incumbency of the archivists associations in this trajectory. As specific aim, it retraces the history of the creation of the Courses of graduation in the Archival Science in Brazil, identifies academic-institutional locus of it discipline and it evaluates the reasons of its bonds in the universities, identify the formation of the professors of the Courses, the scientific events promoted by the archivists associations and the scientific production with thematics that has connections with the area. As a descriptive study, all its phases are showing as a link, from the reconstruction of the historical trajectory of the area – explaining the study based in the Method of Crossed History. The universe of this research reaches all the Courses of Archival Science of Brazil (also the professors), the archivists associations, the Programs of Post-graduation in Information Science and those with research lines, identified for us as being possible to develop research with archivistical subjects and the people who had participated of the creation of the Course of Archival Science of the UnB. The methodological procedures consist of the survey of primaries sources and of the bibliography related to the Archival Science and of that it subsidizes the study of the contours of its relations over the area; documentary research in the Arquivo Nacional Founds (RJ), in the holdings of CEDOC of the UnB and the publication Mensário do Arquivo Nacional; addressed questionnaires to the professors of the Courses of graduation in Archival Science; accomplishment of interviews with people who had participated of the process of creation and implantation of the Course of Archival Science in UnB; research in the sites of the universities that shelter Courses of Archival Science, in sites of the associations of archivists, in the sites of the Programs of Post-graduation in Information Science and those next ones to the Archival Science and in the Data Base of Thesis of the CAPES; sending correspondences to the these associations and the Courses of Library Science of Brazil. The analysis of the trajectory of the Archival Science in Brazil demonstrates that its formation, as discipline, seems to have been direct and immediate consequence of the practical necessity of qualification of specialized professionals for the treatment and organization of the Brazilian archives, with great participation of the Arquivo Nacional and the associations of archivists, over all the AAB. Moreover, its current configuration seems to be decurrent of the dialogues established with others disciplines, in terms of the institutional bonds of its Courses of graduation, the formation/title of the professors of these Courses and the scientific production, with thematic related to the area. These three aspects point with respect to an intense proximity between the Archival Science and the Information Science, even so its trajectory is marked by the historical tradition.
