Previous issue date: 2007 / Resumo: Este trabalho integra a área de pesquisa de Análise de Discurso do Instituto de Linguagem da Unicamp, tomando por base as teorias do discurso das Escolas francesa e brasileira e tem como objeto central cartografar processos educativos relacionados a povos indígenas do Alto Rio Negro/AM. Considerou-se dois aspectos dessa educação escolar: os processos de educação desenvolvidos pelos Missionários Salesianos, desde o início do século XX (1914) até os dias de hoje, os dispositivos pedagógicos em funcionamento nesses processos, os conceitos de civilização e cultura que serviram de base para as ações desenvolvidas pela Missão Salesiana, na tentativa de formar o sujeito cidadão brasileiro cristão. O segundo aspecto refere-se aos projetos de educação escolar pensados e dirigidos por povos indígenas, na mesma região. Se, no princípio, capturados pelo aparato civilizatório-cristão, os índios aparentemente se entregam a esse processo, mais recentemente, fortalecidos em suas próprias organizações, produzem gestos de resistência que estão transformando a Escola em um espaço possível de constituição de novas subjetividades. Num jogo de imagens, o Missionário se representa como o enviado de Deus e do Santo Fundador D. Bosco para a missão civilizatória junto aos índios, para quem, na perspectiva missionária, tudo 'falta'. E assim, entre a 'plenitude do envio' e o 'vazio da falta', o Sistema Preventivo de Educação Salesiana se legitima / Abstract: This work integrates the research area of Discourse Analysis of the Language Institute of Unicamp (University of Campinas - SP Brazil), having as support the theory of the discourse from the french and the brazilian Schools. This research has as central point to map make the educative processes related to the aboriginal people from Alto do Rio Negro/AM - Brazil. However, were taken into consideration two aspects of the school education: the processes of education developed by the salesian missionaries, since the beginning of century XX (1914) until the present, the pedagogical devices working in these processes, the concepts of civilization and culture that had served as basis for the actions developed by the salesian mission, in the attempt to form the subject Brazilian Christian citizen. The second aspect refers to projects of the school education thought and directed by aboriginal people in the same region. If, in the beginning, they were captured by the Christian civilized apparatus, the Indians apparently devote themselves to this process, more recently, fortified in their own organizations, producing gestures of resistance that are transforming the school into a possible space of the constitution of new subjectivities. In a game of images, the Missionary represents himself as God's and the Founder Saint D. Bosco's envoy for the civilized joined to the Indians, for whom, in the missionary perspective, everything 'lacks'. And, thus, between the 'fullness of the sending' and 'emptiness of the lack', the Preventive System of Salesian Education legitimizes itself / Doutorado / Linguistica / Doutor em Linguística
