in the area of Cultures and Religions Symbolic Productions , and was investigated
according to the method of Critical Discourse Analysis , with the methodology to
bibliographic and documentary research . Searching verify the following hypothesis :
the call (post ) modernity attracted to the Christian community , the new biblical
interpretation about homosexual practice , creating not only the acceptance of the
practice , as well as the growth of inclusive churches and the emergence of movements
of religious intolerance ; as seen in the schism occurred in the Anglican Episcopal
Church of Brazil . Aims to analyze the current dialogue between the ( homo ) sexuality
and Christianity . Uploaded objectively debate in the Christian imagery of homosexual
practice , religious intolerance that can be seen in our world (post ) modern, in the
ecclesiastical schism occurred in the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil . The study is
structured in four chapters . In the first chapter , we intend to analyze the influence that
the imaginary Christian Catholic Apostolic Roman aroused the Brazilian people to form
the understanding of homosexual practice , since, in the specific case of Brazil , the
presence of the Roman Catholic Church contributed to the formation of the local culture
of this country . Then, we intend to analyze the current relationship between
Christianity and homosexuality in Brazil . This analysis pervades the biblical
interpretations and major points of contemporary Christian moral arguments about this
practice . The third chapter aims to discuss the new dialogues generated by
postmodernity and the impact it has had on Christianity, specifically with regard to the
doctrines of fundamentalism and the emergence of queer theology. The fourth chapter
focuses on analyzing the current debate about the relationship between the acceptance
of homosexuality by faithful Anglicans and the ecclesiastical schism occurred in the
Anglican Diocese of Recife ; generating the excommunication of Bishop Robinson
Cavalcanti . Also discussed the historical formation of the Anglican Church in Brazil ,
with interest to understand the formation of the Anglican doctrine and posture about
sexuality in Brazil / O tema deste trabalho é compreendido no campo das Ciências das Religiões,
especificamente na área de Religiões Culturas e Produções Simbólicas, e foi pesquisado
de acordo com a Análise Crítica do Discurso, tendo como metodologia a pesquisa
bibliográfica e documental. Buscou verificar a hipótese seguinte: a chamada (pós)
modernidade atraiu, para o meio cristão, a nova interpretação bíblica acerca da prática
homossexual, gerando não apenas a aceitação da prática, como também o crescimento
de igrejas inclusivas e o surgimento de movimentos de intolerância religiosa; como se
observa no cisma ocorrido na igreja episcopal anglicana do Brasil. Pretende analisar o
diálogo atual entre a (homo)sexualidade e o cristianismo. Inserido, objetivamente, no
debate do imaginário cristão acerca da prática homossexual, na intolerância religiosa
que se pode constatar em nosso mundo (Pós)moderno, no cisma eclesiástico ocorrido na
igreja episcopal anglicana do Brasil. O estudo está estruturado em quatro capítulos. No
primeiro capítulo, pretendeu-se analisar a influência que o imaginário cristão católico
apostólico romano despertou no povo brasileiro para a formação do entendimento
acerca da prática homossexual, uma vez que, no caso específico do Brasil, a presença da
Igreja Católica Apostólica Romana contribuiu para a formação da cultura local deste
país. No segundo, pretende-se analisar a relação atual entre o cristianismo e a prática
homossexual no Brasil. Esta análise perpassa pelas interpretações bíblicas e pelos
principais pontos de argumentações contemporâneos da moral cristã acerca desta
prática. O terceiro capítulo tem o objetivo de discorrer sobre os novos diálogos gerados
pela pós-modernidade e o impacto que ela causou no cristianismo, especificamente no
que diz respeito às doutrinas acerca do fundamentalismo e no surgimento da teologia
queer. Já o quarto capítulo se debruça em analisar o debate atual acerca da relação entre
a aceitação da homossexualidade por fiéis anglicanos e o cisma eclesiástico ocorrido na
Diocese Anglicana do Recife; gerando a excomunhão do Bispo Robinson Cavalcanti.
Discute, ainda, a formação histórica da igreja anglicana no Brasil, com interesse de
perceber a formação da doutrina anglicana e a postura acerca da sexualidade no Brasil
