CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeiÃoamento de NÃvel Superior / The gradual accumulation of copper and zinc in nurseries for cultivation of shrimp in the state of Cearà was quantified through the analysis of sedimentary profiles collected in nurseries with different times of activity. There was an increase of 52.25% copper in nurseries and 122.4% in the young old. For zinc, the percentage increase was 67.19% in nurseries and 80.66% in the young old. The calculation of enrichment factors for these metals indicates that natural sources of copper are still the most significant for the region. For zinc, the anthropic already beyond the natural sources of this metal. We also examined the temporal variation of concentrations of copper and zinc in samples of shrimp collected in southern Bahia. Concentrations of copper in muscle ranged from 14.7  1.9 to 36.6  2.9 Mg. g-1 (dry weight) and the carapace of 34.2  2.0 to 58.0  4.6 Mg. g-1 (dry weight). For zinc, the concentrations in muscle ranged from 59.3  5.2 to 68.4  3.5 and 29.5  shell of 6.2 to 69.8  12.1 Mg. g-1 (dry weight). Concentrations found differ from those calculated for the low Jaguaribe, demonstrating a regional character of the data. / A acumulaÃÃo progressiva de cobre e zinco em viveiros de cultivo de camarÃo no estado do Cearà foi quantificada atravÃs da anÃlise de perfis sedimentares coletados em viveiros com diferentes tempos de atividade. Houve incremento de 52,25% de cobre nos viveiros jovens e 122,4% nos velhos. Para zinco, o aumento percentual foi de 67,19% nos viveiros jovens e 80,66% nos velhos. O cÃlculo dos fatores de enriquecimento para estes metais indica que as fontes naturais de cobre ainda sÃo as mais significativas para a regiÃo. Para zinco, as fontes antrÃpicas jÃ
superam as fontes naturais deste metal. TambÃm foi analisada a variaÃÃo temporal das concentraÃÃes de cobre e zinco em amostras de camarÃo coletadas no sul da Bahia. As concentraÃÃes de cobre na musculatura variaram de 14,7 Â 1,9 a 36,6 Â 2,9 Mg . g-1 (peso seco) e na carapaÃa de 34,2 Â 2,0 a 58,0 Â 4,6 Mg . g-1 (peso seco). Para zinco, as concentraÃÃes na musculatura variaram de 59,3 Â 5,2 a 68,4 Â 3,5 e na carapaÃa de 29,5 Â 6,2 a 69,8 Â 12,1Mg . g-1 (peso seco). As concentraÃÃes
encontradas diferem das calculadas para o baixo Jaguaribe, demonstrando um carÃter regional dos dados.
