Dviejų savaitinių mišriųjų pratybų poveikis fiziniam pajėgumui / Influence Of Biweekly Mixed Training Sessions On Exercise Capacity

Scientifically proved evidence exists that regular physical training-induced changes in the organism causes increase in its functionality. Mixed training is directed to augment aerobic endurance and muscular force – both being the essential components of balanced fitness programme. We had an idea to prove that a regimen of twice a week mixed training (which includes presumably complementing each other exercises) has a positive influence on organism’s working capacity.
The aim of our study was to follow the changes of anthropometrical and physical capacity indices due to regular mixed training performed twice a week.
Methods. Twelve previously sedentary men (age 32.0 ± 6.4 yrs; body mass and body mass index before initiation of experiment – 88.9 ± 12.5 kg and 26.1 ± 3.5 kg/m2, respectively) volunteered for the study in a fitness centre. They were investigated twice: before and after standard training programme. Investigation procedure was fulfilled during one visit and included anthropometrics, indirect evaluation of maximal oxygen consumption (on treadmill), and tests for muscular strength endurance. Training programme lasted 10 weeks. It was conducted as mixed workouts twice per week, each session being comprised of resistance training part (two to three series for nine different apparatuses) and aerobic endurance part (a total of 30 min in duration: 10 min being devoted to pedalling at 75–85 % of predicted maximal heart rate plus 20 min devoted to treadmill work at 60–70 %...
