Detta arbete handlar om hur högläsning och boksamtal kan användas för att arbeta med värdegrund i skolan. I uppsatsen presenteras tidigare forskning om högläsning och boksamtal, olika lässtrategier och värdegrunden i skolan. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur skönlitteratur kan användas i skolan för att arbeta med värdegrund. För att undersöka detta genomfördes högläsning och boksamtal i en elevgrupp. Den valda litteraturen var Tove Janssons novell ”Berättelsen om det osynliga barnet”. I arbetet framställs resultatet av högläsningen och efterföljande boksamtal och dessa analyseras sedan tillsammans med relevant litteratur. Resultaten visar att högläsning och boksamtal är en bra metod för att arbeta med värdegrunden då elever har olika uppfattningar. Genom boksamtal får då barnen inblick i vad andras syn på värdegrund innebär. De slutsatser som dragits är att boksamtal och högläsning är en bra metod för att arbeta med värdegrund då detta skapar gemenskap hos gruppen. Boksamtal hjälper eleverna att reflektera kring berättelsen samt ger nya infallsvinklar då de lyssnar på varandras tankar och funderingar. Boksamtalen får eleverna att se nya aspekter och vinklar gällande omvärlden. / This essay is on how reading aloud and discussing the books can be used as basis for working with basic principles in school. The essay will cover previous research on this methodology, reading strategies and basic principles in school. The purpose of this essay is to examine how literature can be utilized while working with basic principles in school. The study was performed by reading aloud to a group of students and thereafter discussing the book. For this study, Tove Jansson´s short story “Berättelsen om det osynliga barnet” was chosen. Results are showing that the methodology mentioned above is a good way to address basic principles as students got different frames of reference. Through discussions about the book, their insight of other´s perception of basic principles will increase. The conclusion is that reading aloud and talking about the book is a good method to work with basic principles as this creates a connection within the group. Talking about the book helps the students to get different aspects and angles of approach of their surroundings.
