En kvantitativ studie av tre länders läroplaner vad gäller arbetsområdet demokrati. : En studie av Sveriges, Englands och Australiens läroplaner och hur de förväntas arbeta med demokratiområdet. / A quantitative study of three countries’ curriculums in regards to the democracy field. : A study of Sweden’s, England’s and Australia’s curriculum and how they are expected to work in regards to the democracy field.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate the Swedish, Australian and English curriculum and how the schools are expected to work with teaching students about democracy. The main procedure of this essay has been reading all the curriculums and then breaking them down into categories. This method has been used to be able to see similarities and differences between the countries and their curriculums. The categories used has been two main ones: The Holistic and The Problematization. The category Problematization has then been broken down into three sub-categories: The System, The Values and The Influence. This method has also been used to be able to see in which category the countries curriculums put the most emphasis in. The conclusion of this essay is that all countries are expected to work with teaching students about democracy but in different ways. The Swedish curriculum puts a lot of emphasis in the category Values, the Australian Curriculum puts a lot of emphasis in teaching their students about the category System and the English one puts a lot of emphasis in Problematization but has an even distribution among the sub-categories.
