Det här projektet handlar om att låta industri vara industri och samtidigt lyfta fram de kvalitéer som gör att vi uppskattar det. Programmet består av: en skrovhall, i vilken upp till 40 m långa båtar ska kunna rullas in med travel lift verkstäder med traverser med en krokhöjd på 5 resp. 10 m. en lyftkran på ett spår. GV-dockan, en av de enorma anläggningar som bidrar till att göra Beckholmen till en unik plats får en representation ovan mark i form av en väldig kolonnad som bär upp kranspåret. För att säkerställa stabilitet i sidled har verkstäderna kopplats in på ömse sidor om kolonnaden. De lägre verkstäderna har placerats nära dockan och de högre på andra sidan. Skrovhallen blir en utställningsmonter för de båtar som repareras där. Translucenta, ställbara plexiglaslameller säkerställer lämpligt arbetsljus. Uppställningsytan organiseras för att möjliggöra prydlig uppställning av båtar och annat. / This project is all about letting industry be industry and enhancing the features that make us appreciate industrial buildings. The program consists of the following: A repair hall. Ships measuring up to 40m will be carried into the hall with a travel lift Workshops with overhead cranes with heights ranging from 5 to 10m A crane on a track The GV-dock, one of the enormous constructions that contribute to Beckholmen’s unique character, will get an aboveground representation in the shape of a huge colonnade that will carry the crane track. To ensure lateral stability, the workshops are connected to the colonnade on both sides. The lower workshops are situated next to the dock and the higher ones on the other side. The repair hall acts as a display case for the boat currently on repair. Translucent, adjustable Plexiglass blinds prevent the building from being flooded with too much light. The space to the west of the workshops is divided by lines in order to allow for a neat organization of the boats and machines waiting to be repaired.
