Syftet med vårt examensarbete är att undersöka hur fritidshemslärare och ledningspersonal uppfattar och tolkar ett arbete som vilar på en vetenskaplig grund inom fritidshemmets kontext. Studien har sin grund inom den kvalitativa forskningen, där det genomfördes sex semistrukturerade intervjuer. Analysen av empirin gjordes enligt ett diskursanalytiskt angreppssätt, där de diskursteoretiska begreppen nodalpunkt och subjektspositioner användes för att formulera två övergripande diskurser, topp-styrda diskursen och verksamhetsstyrande diskursen, som grundar resultatet av studien. Resultatet av studien visar att det finns en viss medvetenhet kring att det är omöjligt att implementera en teori utan att omarbeta för den egna verksamheten. Resultatet visar även att båda yrkesgrupperna som intervjuats anser att arbete med en vetenskaplig grund är viktig del av verksamhetens utvecklingsprocess mot en kulturell legitimering som en lärande institution och att den senaste ökningen av utbildad personal i verksamheten har påskyndat denna process. / The purpose of our degree project is to investigate how the teachers and management staff at the youth recreation center perceive and interpret a work based on a scientific basis in the context of youth recreation center. The study is based on qualitative research, where six semi-structured interviews were conducted. The analysis of the empirics was done according to a discourse analytic approach, where the discourse theoretical concepts of nodal point and subject positions were used to formulate two overall discourses, the top-down guided discourse and the bottom-up guided discourse, which form the result of the study. The results of the study show that there is a certain awareness that it is impossible to implement a theory without reworking it for one's own activities in the youth recreation center. The results also show that both interviewed professions consider that working on a scientific basis is an important part of the youth recreation center development process towards a cultural legitimation as a learning institution and that the recent increase of educated personnel in the youth recreation center has accelerated this process.
