Rumsliga sammankoppling är ett examensarbete i informationsdesign med inriktning mot rumslig gestaltning. I detta arbete studeras hur visuell och fysisk kontakt kan skapas och länka samman ett grannskapstorgs olika delar och på så sätt understödja orienterbarheten och skapa ett bra flöde mellan dessa delar. Arbetet utgår ifrån Kärrtorpsplan i Stockholm där problematiken består i otydliga entréer och bristande visuell och fysisk kontakt mellan Kärrtorpsplans olika delar som försvårar orienterbarheten på platsen. Syftet med arbetet är att ta fram ett gestaltningsförslag som länkar samman Kärrtorpsplans olika delar till en sammanhängande plats för att understödja möjligheten till att lättare hitta och orientera sig på platsen. Förslaget har tagits fram som kompletterande design till det nya gestaltningsförslag för Kärrtorpsplan som utarbetats av Stockholms stad tillsammans med Nyréns arkitekter. Utifrån teorier och insamlad empiri ifrån notationer av rörelsemönster, observationer och platsanalys visar resultatet på att torgets utformning har ett bra cirkulationsmönster men att platsen präglas av starka barriärer och bristfällig wayshowing i form av skyltar och rumsliga element, som försvårar orienterbarheten och försämrar den visuella och fysiska kontakten mellan Kärrtorpsplans olika delar. Detta visar tydligt på att placeringen och formen av informationsartefakter och rumsliga element påverkar hur människor rör sig och orienterar sig i en viss miljö. Vid vägledning och planeringen av miljöer är det viktigt att uppmärksamma besökaren på den information hen behöver, vilket enligt teorier kan ske med hjälp av pop – out – effekter och kontraster i syfte att främja orienterbarheten. Ett sammanhängande formspråk och pop-out effekt har bidragit till att Kärrtorpsplans olika delar och entréer har blivit tydligare och bidragit till att den visuella och fysiska kontakten har förstärkts. Ur ett hållbarhetsperspektiv och strävan efter att förstärka, lyfta fram och knyta samman Kärrtorpsplans femtiotals karaktär har form, färg och materialval varit en stor del av framtagandet av gestaltningsförslaget. / Spatial connection is a study in information design with orientation to-wards spatial design. This study elaborates how the visiual and physical contact can create and tie together a neighborhood town square`s different parts and in such a way support orientability and create a good flow between these parts. The study eminates from Kärrtorpsplan in Stockholm Stad where the complex of problems consist of unclear entries and a lack of visual and physical contact between Kärrtorpsplan´s different parts, which complicates the orientation on the spot. The purpose with this study is to develop a designed proposal, which links Kärrtorpsplan`s different parts to a homogene place and to simplify orientation in the square. This project is a complement to the new design proposal for Kärrtorpsplan, which originated from Stockholm Stad, in collaboration with the architecs at Nyréns architects. Based on theories and gathered empirical data from notations of movement pattern, observations and analyses at the location, the result shows, that the design of the square has a good cirkulation pattern, but the place is characterized with different barriers and inadequate wayshowing and in the shape of signs and spatial design, which reduces the orientability and worsen the visual and physical contact between Kärrtorpsplan´s different parts. This clearly indicates that the place and form of the information artefacts and spatial design affect how people move and orientate in a certain environment. By guiding and planning an environment, it is important to make the visitor pay attention to the information he/she needs, which according to theories can be pop-out effects and contrasts, in order to improve orientability. A collective type of artform and pop-out effect have contributed to the effect that Kärrtorpsplan´s different parts and entries have become more distinct and that the visual and physical contact have strengthen. From a sustainability perspective and a strive to strengthen, emphazise and string together Kärrtorpsplan´s character of the fifties, form, colour and material have been a big part of the design proposal.
