I en alltmer konkurrensutsatt bransch där vinstmarginalerna är små gäller det för företagen att göra det de kan för att öka sin produktivitet, genom att nyttja sina verktyg så effektivt som möjligt. Ett sätt för de svenska byggbolagen att effektivt minska sina kostnader är att se över hur man nyttjar sina maskiner i produktion för att på så sätt vara mera kostnadseffektiva. Syftet med det här examensarbetet är att undersöka nyttjandegraden hos de maskiner som användes vid ett av NCCs projekt samt att analysera dessa. Eftersom att NCC arbetar med effektivitetsutvärderingar kommer de att stå bättre rustade inför framtiden, i och med att detta leder till en större medvetenhet kring hur företaget kan nyttja maskinerna mer effektivt. Den här studien utfördes genom att hämta in kvantitativ data över hur maskinerna används. Därtill genomfördes också observationer på plats, för att bilda en förståelse för vad som påverkar maskinerna och varför datan ser ut som den gör. Resultaten visade att ingen av de maskiner som studerades uppnådde önskvärd nyttjandegrad. Detta berodde främst på störningsmoment i produktionen, men också på bristande planering. Slutsatsen blev att det främst är produktionsstörningar och yttre faktorer som gör att maskinerna inte uppnår sin fulla nyttjandegradspotential, inte maskinerna i sig. Författaren anser att entreprenörer gynnas av att göra utvärderingar över hur maskinerna nyttjas, för att på så sätt få en inblick i hur de används och hur man kan förbättra detta. Författaren anser också att det inte bara går att se till en enskild resurs, utan att man i slutändan måste se till projektet som helhet. / In an increasingly competitive industry where profit margins are small, companies must do what they can to streamline their production by using their tools as efficiently as possible. One way for Swedish construction companies to effectively reduce their costs is to review how to use their machines in production to be more cost effective. The purpose of this degree project is to investigate the degree of utilization of the machines used in one of NCC's projects and to analyze them. Because NCC works with efficiency evaluations, they will be better equipped for the future, while this will lead to a better understanding of how to use the machines more efficiently. This study was carried out by obtaining quantitative data on how the machines are used, but also by making observations at the construction site of what affects the machines to get an understanding of why the data looks the way it does. The results showed that of the machines studied, none of them achieved the intended use. This was mainly due to interruptions in production but also due to lack of planning. The conclusion was that it is mainly production disturbances and external factors that make the machines not reach their full utilization potential, not the machines themselves. The author believes that entrepreneurs benefit from making evaluations of how the machines are used, to gain an insight into how they are used and how to improve this. The author also believes that it is not only possible to look at an individual resource, but that in the end you must look at the project as a whole.
