Denna masteruppsats utgörs av en kvalitativ studie om ungdomars delaktighet i skolors arbete mot kränkande behandling och diskriminering. I den här studien har högstadieungdomar intervjuats om sina upplevelser av arbetet mot mobbning i deras skolor, och på vilka sätt de själva är delaktiga i det arbetet. Delaktighet i frågor som rör en själv kan hävdas vara en grundläggande demokratisk rättighet. Skolverket poängterar att de ska vara framgångsrikt för skolor att ungdomarna är delaktiga i arbetet mot kränkande behandling och diskriminering. Men på vilka sätt görs de delaktiga och vad anser de själva om skolornas arbete? Med utgångspunkt i en barndomssociologisk syn på barn, där barns delaktighet ses som något mycket komplext, analyseras ungdomarnas berättelser i denna studie. Vikt läggs vid att de vuxna behöver ge ungdomarna utrymme och information för att de ska kunna vara delaktiga. Det framkommer en bild av att ungdomarna inte delges information i någon större utsträckning och därför är deras delaktighet begränsad. Detta trots att barns och ungdomars delaktighet ofta framhålls som mycket viktig i officiella dokument. / This master thesis consists of a qualitative study about child participation in schools’ work against bullying and discrimination. In this study young people from the age of 13 to 15 have been interviewed about their experiences regarding the work that is done against bullying in their schools, and how they themselves are involved in that work. The right to participate in questions concerning oneself can be said to be a democratic right. According to the Swedish National Agency for Education it is supposed to be important for schools to let children participate in the work against bullying. But in what ways are they given the right to participate? And what do they think about the schools anti-bullying work? With the sociology of childhood, that views children’s participation as a complex matter, as the theoretical background, the youths’ stories are analysed in this study. The study shows a picture of a reality in the schools where the youths are not particularly involved, due to them not being informed properly about different areas of the anti-bullying work.
