A report on an Arts Administration internship in the Quality Seal Amphitheatre at the Louisiana World Exposition, Fall, 1984

Price, Shirley Hedrick 01 December 1984 (has links)
On August 20, 1984, I began an internship with the Louisiana World Exposition which continued until November 11, 1984. During the course of that internship, opportunities for applying the principles and practices of arts administration were presented in accounting, contracts, and public relations. I have endeavored to present in the pages that follow an overview of my staff position with the Louisiana World Exposition Amphitheatre, beginning with a look at the Amphitheatre's goals, management structure, and management philosophy. The existence of a basic management problem--that of communication--is discussed, with possible solutions to the problem presented. In concluding this presentation, an effort is made to establish some concrete short-range and long-range effects of the internship. Throughout this paper the term "top-level management" is used to indicate the source of ideas, impressions that I received, memos, etc. to which no specific upper management name could be attached, but which lines of communication, such as memos, informal conversations, etc., indicated was a management level higher than the manager of the Amphitheatre. With this basic comment in mind, the exploration of the Louisiana World Exposition Liggett and Myers Amphitheatre as an entity in itself begins.

Silva, Maria Lucileide Ferreira da 27 October 2011 (has links)
The present research aim at examining the Freedom Awreness as a recurrent theme (Leitmotiv) in Jorge Andrade` s dramaturgy according to Freudian Psychoanalysis. Four plays were selected: A Moratória (\"Moratorium\"), Vereda da Salvação (\"Salvation Path\"), Rasto Atrás (Track Behind\") and O Sumidouro (\"Bottomless Pit\"). As a mater of fact, there is a relationship beteween some characters` behaviours with some processes studied by Freud and also how these behaviour patterns connect to freedom as Leitmotiv.

Beltrán Pacheco, Jorge Alberto 05 December 2011 (has links)
Tesis

Tilsa Tsuchiya : tres estados del ser

Dávila Cánovas, María Luisa 09 November 2016 (has links)
Tesis

Anatomy of a failed democratic transition : the case of Nigeria, 1985-1993

Emelifeonwu, David C. January 1999 (has links)
This study is about the vicissitudes of democratisation in the context of neo-patrimonialism. It examines the aborted transition to democracy in Nigeria (1985--1993) by critically adopting the arguments proffered in the 'new institutionalism' literature. The key insight of the 'new institutionalism' approaches is that they neither privilege structures nor human agency. Instead they seek to explicate how pre-existing institutions and rules shape the choices of political actors. To this end, the 'new institutionalism' approaches lend themselves to a more comprehensive understanding of the processes of regime change. / The annulment of 1993, and the country's continuous failure to establish a viable democratic regime, can be attributed to the underlying political process in Nigeria, which puts an emphasis on capturing power for personal and sectional gains. Given this situation, political competition becomes a struggle of the survival of the fittest between those with power and those without. Thus, this study contends that the constitutive rules of a polity, while not determining the outcome of regime transitions, shapes actors' behavior towards specific goals and interests. The breakdown of the Babangida-initiated transition programme is an interesting example of this dynamic. The challenge to regime transitions therefore is understanding how inherited rules and institutions structure the political actors' choices. To meet this challenge an integrative approach is required for the study of regime transitions.
