In addition to the uses of digital technologies: a study about the training and teaching performance in the higher education of doctoral students of the Program of Post-Graduation in Education of USP

Ebenezer Takuno de Menezes 15 May 2018 (has links)
A cultura contemporânea é marcada pelas tecnologias digitais. / Contemporary culture is marked by digital technologies. In higher education, academic knowledge is produced, systematized and diffused in a society that maintains an ever greater relationship with the digital. In this thesis, this culture is examined among doctoral students who teach in higher education. We interviewed three novice teachers and three experienced, selected in the doctoral course of the Faculty of Education, University of São Paulo (FEUSP) Post-Graduation Program. The goal of the developed research was to analyze teacher training in graduate school and teaching practice in higher education in addition to the uses of digital technologies and realize the design of digital culture of these doctoral students, identifying similarities and differences between beginners and experienced. As a hypothesis, it was considered that digital technologies are a reality for the doctoral students who started the teaching career in higher education because they dominate its uses, but it is not critically perceived as it happens among experienced teachers. In order to operationalize the analysis, the digital culture was conceived from Castells (1999), Lévy (1993) and Morin (2007) and life stories were adopted with interviews as a research method. It was observed that beginners conceive the digital culture more like technology and articulated with the teaching activity. The experts also conceive digital culture more as technology, but articulated with training and research. Both ignore digital culture as a potential network and as a structured knowledge rhizomatically. FEUSP Post-Graduation needs something formal and specific to better handle digital in its courses, and collaboration between beginners and experienced must be considered because they are completed in a teaching group capable of generating a difference/ singularities that we need as quality to meet the contemporary challenges of higher education.

Foi possível evidenciar conhecimentos trazidos pelas crianças e detectar avanços em relação a esses conhecimentos / Abstract: This study considers as a problematic situation the fact that the six-year-old children, that a short time ago were on the Infant Education, already are today in the Fundamental Education, and it has as objective the establishing of methods of working in the sense of the knowledge advancement related to the science at a specific situation, in other words, at the schools with nonliterate children that live in the rural area, in Três Pontas town/MG, and that attend the Introductory Phase of the Fundamental Education. For this, we considered the following study questions: 1. How to work knowledge aspects related to the nature sciences with non-literate children. 2. In which ways resources such as infant stories, music, drawing can constitute themselves into mediations for the advancement of the non-literate children with regard to knowledge related to the nature sciences. For the development of the study, two meetings were performed. In the first one, the children were motivated to report what they liked to do, how they used to play, where, with whom, the places they used to go to and their daily occupancies. In the second one, we ministered a class, in which the subject to be discussed with the class was related to the interests and problems manifested by the children at the first meeting. The rainbow and some gender questions, and the Wind were the discussed themes during the class, in which the children¿s approach with multiple pedagogic resources such as the earth, images, texts, puppets contributed to the mediation of knowledge related to the nature sciences and some social questions. The discursive analyses of part of the classes organized and ministered by us was performed, while researcher-teacher, regulated, especially, in notions of studies published in Brazil, by Eni Orlandi, with the mentioned resources. The main aspects worked with, are related to knowledge about the rainbow, and gender questions, and the wind. It was possible to make the knowledge brought by the children evident, and to detect advances in relation to this knowledge / Mestrado / Ensino, Avaliação e Formação de Professores / Mestre em Educação

Observer, comprendre et accompagner des élèves « sous-réalisateurs » : étude sur la médiation pédagogique à l'aide de la création d'albums en cycles 2 et 3 / Observing, understanding and supporting pupils : study on the educational mediation using the creation of albums in cycles 2 and 3

Pairis, Nadine 15 December 2016 (has links)
In our thesis consideration could be given to a strategy in order to re-engage « early school leaving » pupils. It focuses on a mediation in an experimental class of arts and cultural education, in cycles 2 and 3, developed as a tool for school mobilization. The analysis of this device, leading to the creation of four albums in children's literature, tries to highlight the results of our educational mediation. Specifically, our study sets out to observe, understand and support underachieving pupils (from 7 to 11 years old) in a school within a socio-economically disadvantaged area. We were able to identify, within writing and visual arts workshops, how pupils became engaged in activities, in order to learn by doing and creating.Pupils actively participated in classwork comprising an activity of creativity allowing them to become motivated to learn. So, the study focused on whether this increased engagement was due to taking part in activities with an author-illustrator.Our theoretical and methodological framework for analysis of data from the "process of experience" is based on activity tracks (what is emerging from the pre-reflexive consciousness). The data in thislongitudinal study were collected during direct observations in a classroom (from the 2nd year to the 5th year of primary school).. The study hypothesis argues that increased pupil engagement was as a result of the creative process involved in the creation of albums promoting access to the world of imagination. In addition these pupils became more integrated into the life of the school. They became actors by being inspired by their own fields of interest. They learned how to articulate the required pictorial reference needed for their stories. The pupils were inspired to see their own real-life experience being used as the basis of a work of fiction. This study demonstrates how underachieving pupils could be encouraged to re-engage with school through participation in this creative process. Further research is required to find out whether this creative approach could be adopted in other areas of the curriculum to support the integration of underachieving pupils in school.

[en] LEARNERS CONCEPTION ON ONLINE TUTORING: A DISTANCE LEARNING COURSE CASE STUDY / [pt] CONCEPÇÃO DOS ALUNOS SOBRE MEDIAÇÃO PEDAGÓGICA: UM ESTUDO DE CASO EM CURSO NA MODALIDADE A DISTÂNCIA

EUNICE DE CASTRO E SILVA 02 December 2016 (has links)
[en] Distance learning has been identified as an effective strategy for initial and continuing teacher training in the primary and secondary education sector. However, expansion in this field has also been followed by criticisms and concerns about the quality of such training. One of the main issues in distance learning is online tutoring, more specifically learner-tutor and/or learner-teacher interaction. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to investigate learners conception on online tutoring in a distance learning specialization course. Our main research study questions were: What do learners expect from their online tutors? Which contributions does online tutoring offer to the quality of learners training? How can ICT enhance the online tutoring practice? In order to understand the concept of online tutoring, an interdisciplinary research of the term was undertaken, relating it to the advances/development of ICT in distance education. The chosen research method was a case study on the specialization course Tecnologias em Educação – PUC Rio. Data on online tutoring were gathered from the learners responses to a questionnaire. Close-ended questions were analysed with the help of the SPSS software. One open-ended question was selected and analysed through the content analysis method and with the help of the Alceste software. Results originated from the close-ended questions showed high acceptance of the online tutor performance. In the qualitative analysis, Alceste originated four classes, identified as: online tutoring pedagogical strategies and assistant online tutor; question answerer online tutor; motivating the learner; online tutor training and influences of online tutoring on the learners professional practice. Learners opinions demonstrated the recognition and appreciation of online tutoring as an essential part of knowledge building during their learning process. The complexity of online tutoring practice and its influence on the training and professional development of the learner were also demonstrated.
