Chon in (Korean J. Math 17 (2009), No. 4, 361-374), using the notion of fuzzy order relation de ned by Zadeh, introduced a new notion of fuzzy lattice and studied the level sets of fuzzy lattices, but did not de ne a notion of fuzzy ideals for this type of fuzzy lattice. In this thesis, using the fuzzy lattices de ned by Chon, we de ne fuzzy homomorphism between fuzzy lattices, the operations of product, collapsed sum, lifting, opposite, interval and intuitionistic on bounded fuzzy lattices. They are conceived as extensions of their analogous operations on the classical theory by using this de nition of fuzzy lattices and introduce new results from these operators. In addition, we de ne ideals and lters of fuzzy lattices and concepts in the same way as in their characterization in terms of level and support sets. One of the results found here is the connection among ideals, supports and level sets. The reader will also nd the de nition of some kinds of ideals and lters as well as some results with respect to the intersection among their families. Moreover, we introduce a new notion of fuzzy ideals and fuzzy lters for fuzzy lattices de ned by Chon. We de ne types of fuzzy ideals and fuzzy lters that generalize usual types of ideals and lters of lattices, such as principal ideals, proper ideals, prime ideals and maximal ideals. The main idea is verifying that analogous properties in the classical theory on lattices are maintained in this new theory of fuzzy ideals. We also de ne, a fuzzy homomorphism h from fuzzy lattices L and M and prove some results involving fuzzy homomorphism and fuzzy ideals as if h is a fuzzy monomorphism and the fuzzy image of a fuzzy set ~h(I) is a fuzzy ideal, then I is a fuzzy ideal. Similarly, we prove for proper, prime and maximal fuzzy ideals. Finally, we prove that h is a fuzzy homomorphism from fuzzy lattices L into M if the inverse image of all principal fuzzy ideals of M is a fuzzy ideal of L. Lastly, we introduce the notion of -ideals and - lters of fuzzy lattices and characterize it by using its support and its level set. Moreover, we prove some similar properties in the classical theory of - ideals and - lters, such as, the class of -ideals and - lters are closed under intersection. We also de ne fuzzy -ideals of fuzzy lattices, some properties analogous to the classical theory are also proved and characterize a fuzzy -ideal on operation of product between bounded fuzzy lattices L and M and prove some results.

Diagnóstico automático de defeitos em rolamentos baseado em lógica fuzzy / Automatic diagnoses of rolling bearing failures based in fuzzy logic.

Rodrigo Yoshiaki Fujimoto 08 December 2005 (has links)
This works describes two proposed methodologies for the automatic diagnoses in mechanical equipment: the fuzzy system inference and a Fuzzy C-Means based algorithm. Their performances are evaluated in an experimental case and, afterwards, also compared by the statistical alarm, a diagnostic methodology very used in industries at present. In order to do the tests, a developed computer algorithm allowed creating alarms and fuzzy systems by the use of an experimental database. These tested diagnostic systems were automatically built using information from the mentioned database that was composed by samples of vibration signals, representing several types of rolling bearing defects and the bearing normal condition. The fuzzy systems input scalar parameters were obtained by signal processing. The influence of some of the building fuzzy systems parameters in the system performance was also studied, which allow establishing, for example, that the database complexity is an important factor in the fuzzy system performance. Finally, this work discusses the main characteristics of each one of the described methodologies. The most important contribution of this work is the proposition of a methodology for creating fuzzy system automatically as well as the analysis of the fuzzy C-Means as a tool for system diagnoses.

It is well-known that, in the mid-frequency range, numerical methods such as finite and boundary elements are not suitable for structural dynamic analysis. One of the reasons is the fine mesh resolution required to accurately model the physical problem, leading to large computational models. The other reason is associated with the difficulty in estimating the response statistics for system parameter variations. The mesh refinement problem can be addressed using semi-analytical methods, such as the spectral element method. However, in general, these methods are very limited with respect to the geometry and boundary conditions that can be treated. With respect to parameter variation, the simulation of systems with uncertain parameters has in the past been addressed with different techniques, such as finite elements applied to stochastic problems and fuzzy set based methods. In this thesis, the spectral element method is combined with a special implementation of a fuzzy set based method that avoids the well-know effect of overestimation in interval computations. In this regard, some efficient alternatives, such as the transformation method and the sparse grids approach are proposed. In this work, the main goal is to provide alternatives to address dynamic problems under uncertainty in the mid-frequency range. In this context, envelopes for frequency response functions are used to represent the effect of non-deterministic input parameters in the dynamic response of structures. To illustrate he proposed procedure, numerical examples are treated, such as a simple rectangular plate reinforced with beams and a frame-type model / Doutorado / Mecanica dos Sólidos e Projeto Mecanico / Doutor em Engenharia Mecânica

In this work, we have as a main goal, the study of the Poincaré-Bendixson Theorem in dynamic systems that uses fuzzy set theory to incorporate uncertainties in the modeling process. To do this, we treat the fuzzy dynamic systems in two diffent contexts. In first one, we study the Poincaré-Bendixson theorem for systems of ODEs whose initial condition is fuzzy. These systems are obtained by Zadeh's extension applied to the solution of a differential equation. For these models, we consider only the initial condition as being fuzzy. Moreover, we propose a theorem that guarantees the existence of a region of attraction for the fuzzy flow under certain conditions. In the last chapter, we will work with P-fuzzy continuous systems. Initially, we present sufficient conditions for a fuzzy Pcontinuous system which ensure the uniqueness of the solution, given an initial condition. For systems that satisfy those conditions, we state the Poincaré-Bendixson theorem, with additional hypotheses that guarantees, the convergence of a solution of a P-fuzzy system for a periodic orbit / Mestrado / Matematica Aplicada / Mestre em Matemática Aplicada

Relative-fuzzy : a novel approach for handling complex ambiguity for software engineering of data mining models

Imam, Ayad Tareq January 2010 (has links)
There are two main defined classes of uncertainty namely: fuzziness and ambiguity, where ambiguity is ‘one-to-many’ relationship between syntax and semantic of a proposition. This definition seems that it ignores ‘many-to-many’ relationship ambiguity type of uncertainty. In this thesis, we shall use complex-uncertainty to term many-to-many relationship ambiguity type of uncertainty. This research proposes a new approach for handling the complex ambiguity type of uncertainty that may exist in data, for software engineering of predictive Data Mining (DM) classification models. The proposed approach is based on Relative-Fuzzy Logic (RFL), a novel type of fuzzy logic. RFL defines a new formulation of the problem of ambiguity type of uncertainty in terms of States Of Proposition (SOP). RFL describes its membership (semantic) value by using the new definition of Domain of Proposition (DOP), which is based on the relativity principle as defined by possible-worlds logic. To achieve the goal of proposing RFL, a question is needed to be answered, which is: how these two approaches; i.e. fuzzy logic and possible-world, can be mixed to produce a new membership value set (and later logic) that able to handle fuzziness and multiple viewpoints at the same time? Achieving such goal comes via providing possible world logic the ability to quantifying multiple viewpoints and also model fuzziness in each of these multiple viewpoints and expressing that in a new set of membership value. Furthermore, a new architecture of Hierarchical Neural Network (HNN) called ML/RFL-Based Net has been developed in this research, along with a new learning algorithm and new recalling algorithm. The architecture, learning algorithm and recalling algorithm of ML/RFL-Based Net follow the principles of RFL. This new type of HNN is considered to be a RFL computation machine. The ability of the Relative Fuzzy-based DM prediction model to tackle the problem of complex ambiguity type of uncertainty has been tested. Special-purpose Integrated Development Environment (IDE) software, which generates a DM prediction model for speech recognition, has been developed in this research too, which is called RFL4ASR. This special purpose IDE is an extension of the definition of the traditional IDE. Using multiple sets of TIMIT speech data, the prediction model of type ML/RFL-Based Net has classification accuracy of 69.2308%. This accuracy is higher than the best achievements of WEKA data mining machines given the same speech data.

Dimitriadou, Evgenia, Weingessel, Andreas, Hornik, Kurt January 1999 (has links) (PDF)
In this paper we present a fuzzy voting scheme for cluster algorithms. This fuzzy voting method allows us to combine several runs of cluster algorithms resulting in a common fuzzy partition. This helps us to overcome instabilities of the cluster algorithms and results in a better clustering. / Series: Report Series SFB "Adaptive Information Systems and Modelling in Economics and Management Science"

Rocha, Alexandre Magno Parente da 13 February 2003 (has links)
Activated sludge wastewater treatment plants are characterized by kinetic models of highly nonlinear behavior, whose time varying parameters are very difficult to calibrate. The use of parametric identification techniques to build models of such plants results in models with parameters without operational meaning. Alternatively, the fuzzy logic enables users of models, which are based on this technique, a parametrization similar to human reasoning. The simplicity of the fuzzy logic consists of the attribution of linguistic labels to the model input variables. This dissertation uses fuzzy logic techniques, such as ANFIS and limited rules, to identify the behavior of the dissolved oxigen in the aeration tank of a benchmark activated sludge wastewater treatment plant, with nitrogen removal.

Barbosa Junior, José 22 November 2006 (has links)
This work presents the project of a generating system of \"set-point\" (GSP), used in the determination of the parameters of work of a process of continuous tempering of carbon steels, whose modeling is based on the \"fuzzy\" logic. The financial and economic evaluation of investments under uncertainly: a comparison between the Monte Carlo method and NPV fuzzy

Oliveira, Mário Henrique da Fonseca 19 September 2008 (has links)
The deterministic methods used for economical and financial evaluation of investments projects, such as Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate Return (IRR) consider the future comportment of the project variables as exact values. Nevertheless, the future unpredictability and the high volatility of world economy and technology make fragile the deterministic analysis under situations that uncertainty is present, what may lead managers and investors to take bad decisions about capital allocation. The main objective of this assignment is two compare two different methods used to evaluate investments under uncertainty. The Monte Carlo method is its statistical character, allows to associate probability distributions with random numbers and this application provides that includes uncertainty. The fuzzy Net Present Value is an alternative method to analyze investments, which consider uncertainty variable as fuzzy numbers, i.e., mathematics conceptions that do not present absolute borders. Two different kinds of comparisons were produced by applications of both methods in a real investment situation: the first was developed based on numeric analysis; the second is based on a theory that involves those methods.
