[pt] As startups, denominação dada as empresas que nascem com forte viés tecnológico e uma cadeia de processos ágeis, têm revolucionado grande parte dos setores da economia, pois alteram o paradigma de prestação de serviços e trazem uma nova experiência para os clientes finais. O viés tecnológico dessas empresas cria um modelo de negócios com potencial de escalabilidade, que possibilita o rompimento das barreiras do mercado interno para prestação de serviços. Dessa forma, podemos dizer que grande parte dessas empresas já nascem globais, ou com desejo que se internacionalizarem tão logo consigam validar seu modelo de negócios no país de origem. O setor de seguros não é diferente. O surgimento de insurtechs têm acelerado o desenvolvimento tecnológico e melhorado a oferta e prestação de serviços aos clientes. Considerando que os riscos sociais de morte e invalidez, na prática, são os mesmos independente do país ou continente, surge a oportunidade de internacionalização para empresas desse setor. Assim, esse trabalho é uma pesquisa aplicada e tem como objetivo de propor um modelo de internacionalização para insurtech Winsocial, baseado nas teorias de Uppsala, Networks e Empreendedorismo Internacional, que juntos formam a linha de pesquisa da evolução comportamental entre as teorias de internacionalização. Essa linha de pesquisa valoriza as atitudes, comportamentos de mercado e redes de relacionamento no processo de internacionalização. Uma importante implicação prática do trabalho é que o modelo proposto resulta em um framework, que pode ser aplicado em outras startups de diversos setores minimizando risco e contribuindo para expandir mercados. / [en] Startups, a name given to companies that are born with a strong technological base and a chain of agile processes, have revolutionized most sectors of the economy, because they change the service paradigm and bring a new experience to end customers. The technology of these companies creates a business model with potential for scalability, which makes it possible to break the barriers of the domestic market to offer products and services. Thus, we can say that most of these companies are already born global, or with a desire for internationalization as soon as they validate their business model in the country of origin. The insurance industry is no different. The emergence of insurtechs has accelerated technological development and improved services offered to customers. Considering that the social risks of death and disability, in practice, are the same regardless of the country or continent, there is an opportunity for internationalization for companies in this sector. Thus, this work is an applied research and aims to propose an internationalization model for Insurtech Winsocial, based on the theories of Uppsala, Networks and International Entrepreneurship, which together form the line of research on behavioral evolution among the theories of internationalization. This line of research values attitudes, market behaviors and relationship networks in the internationalization process. An important practical implication of the work is that the proposed model results in a framework, which can be applied to other startups in different sectors, minimizing risk and contributing to expand markets.

The digitalisation of worksite benefits programs from a product development perspective / Digitaliseringen av arbetsplatsen gynnar program från en produkt utvecklingsperspektiv

This research presents a way for digitalising worksite benefits programs. The related work analysis and results of user interviews showed the important role of benefits programs in the wellbeing of employees, and as a result in company performance and employer branding. However shortcomings were discovered in the current format of worksite programs and suggested that digital transformation might help to address these shortcomings. The research used semi-structured interviews and analysis, user journey mapping, prototyping, and heuristic evaluation methods to deliver the concept of an employee insurance wallet. Furthermore, the research stepped beyond product design and presented a comprehensive framework for developing, monitoring, and operating such digital worksite benefit product. The framework incorporates stakeholder needs to ensure business success and user-centred design methodology to embrace usability and engagement principles. According to the research results, the real-life version of the product was developed. / Denna forskning presenterar ett sätt för digitalisering av arbetsplatsfördelningsprogram. Den relaterade arbetsanalysen och resultaten från användarintervjuer visade den viktiga rollen som förmånsprogram har för anställdas välbefinnande, och som ett resultat i företagets prestanda och varumärke från arbetsgivare. Emellertid upptäcktes brister i det aktuella formatet av arbetsplatsprogram och föreslog att digital transformation kan hjälpa till att lösa dessa brister. Forskningen använde semistrukturerade intervjuer och analyser, kartläggning av användarresor, prototyper och heuristiska utvärderingsmetoder för att leverera konceptet för en anställdsförsäkringsplånbok. Vidare gick forskningen bortom produktdesign och presenterade ett omfattande ramverk för att utveckla, övervaka och använda sådana digitala arbetsplatsfördelar. Ramverket innehåller intressentbehov för att säkerställa affärsframgång och användarcentrerad designmetodik för att omfatta användbarhets- och engagementsprinciper. Enligt forskningsresultaten utvecklades den verkliga versionen av produkten.

Denna studie behandlar digital transformation inom försäkringsbranschen som befinner sig i en förändringsfas. Detta innebär att analoga processer som tidigare haft ett stort mänskligt inflytande kommer att helt eller delvis automatiseras. Företag som ligger bakom digital innovation inom försäkringsbranschen och använder sig av digital teknik har fått benämningen “InsurTech´s”. Dessa företag bildar en länk mellan teknik och traditionella försäkringsbolag. Studiens syfte är utreda och analysera försäkringsbranschen med fokus på innebörden för digitalisering av kärnprocesserna. Detta har gjorts genom en bakgrundsinformerande litteraturstudie tillsammans med kvalitativa intervjuer av utvalda personer som innehar olika positioner inom branschen. Studien visar vilka effekter den digitala transformation har på personalbehov, processer, kundupplevelser och kostnader. Samtidigt har interna strukturer och typen av ledarskap en potentiell påverkan på digitaliseringens resultat. Studiens omfattning begränsar sig till den svenska marknaden och digitaliseringen inom svenska försäkringsbolag. Detta genom att beskriva skaderegleringsprocessens utformning från ett analogt till ett digitalt perspektiv vilket har förändrat kundens uppfattning om försäkringar och försäkringsbolag. / This paper examines digital transformation within the insurance industry which are in a period of change. this means that analogous processes that previously have had a large human influence will be wholly or partly automated. Companies working with developing new digital innovations within the insurance industry and using digital tools are referred as “InsurTech´s”. These companies form a link between technology and traditional insurance companies. The aim of the study is to investigate and analyze the insurance industry with a focus on the significance of digitization of the core processes. This has been done through a background-informing literature study together with qualitative interviews of selected persons who hold different positions in the industry.The study shows what effects the digital transformation has on staffing, processes, customer experiences and costs. At the same time, internal structures and the type of leadership have a potential impact on the results of digitization. The scope of the study is limited to the Swedish market and the digitization within Swedish insurance companies. This is by describing the design of the claims settlement process from an analogue to a digital perspective, which has changed the customer's perception of insurance and insurance companies.

En el 2017 la industria de los seguros de vida y no vida en el Perú facturó cerca de 11,327 millones de soles, un 0.6% más respecto al año anterior (Superintendencia de Banca y Seguros, 2016), y alcanzó un nivel de penetración en el PBI de 1.6%. Esto muestra el amplio espacio de la industria para seguir creciendo, y para seguir ofreciendo productos de cobertura individual y masiva (Equilibrium, 2018), si la comparamos con otros mercados del globo. La industria se basa en una red de distribución de corredores de seguros, conformada principalmente por empresas unipersonales o familiares basadas en esfuerzos comerciales personales en las que el relacionamiento directo o indirecto del dueño de la empresa determina el radio de acción de la compañía. Sin embargo, al tener labores operativas atendidas principalmente por humanos y en formatos impresos físicos, pueden presentarse numerosos errores durante el ciclo de venta. Para mejorar la productividad de estas empresas, proponemos la creación de Previsor, un Sistema Integrado de Gestión que permitirá a los corredores contar con la información de sus clientes de forma rápida, continua y eficiente desde cualquier dispositivo conectado al internet, ayudando a aumentar sus ventas cruzadas y a manejar sus emisiones de las pólizas. Estimamos que nuestro servicio tendrá un pago mensual de US$ 150.00, mientras que para su inversión estimamos cerca de $500,000.00, un VAN de casi US$ 1.7 millones y una TIR de 253%, lo que será sumamente atractivo para los inversionistas que involucraremos a lo largo del proyecto. / In 2017, the insurance and non-life insurance industry in Peru billed close to 11,327 million Soles, 0.6% more than the previous year (Superintendencia de Banca y Seguros, 2016); and it permeated through the GDP in a 1.6%. This scenario shows the wide potential of the industry to continue growing and to keep offering products of individual and massive coverage (Equilibrium, 2018) if we compare it with other markets of the globe. The industry is based in a distribution network of brokers, which is mainly composed of sole proprietorships or family enterprises based in personal commercial efforts, in which the direct or indirect relationship of the owner determines the action scope of the company. However, as their tasks are mainly attended by humans and in physical printed formats, numerous mistakes can occur during the sales cycle. In order to improve the productivity of these enterprises, we propose the creation of Previsor, an Integrated Management System which will allow the insurance brokers to access to their clients’ information in a fast, continuous, and efficient way. The system can be accessed from any device connected to the internet, which will help the brokers to increase their crossed sales and to manage their policy emissions. We estimate that our service will have a monthly payment of US$ 150.00, an investment of $500,000.00 approximately, an NPV of almost US $ 1.7 million, and an IRR of 253%.
