The diploma thesis deals with the issue of process automatization in the company ABB s.r.o, specifically in the warehouse 701, where the operated forklift is currently used. Based on the analysis, proposals are made to improve the current logistics processes taking place in the warehouse, to increase the quality of operations associated with the storage and removal of material, increase the use of labor capacity, improve workplace conditions, and increase occupational safety.

This master‘s thesis is focused on optimization of order processing in production company NovaSteel, s.r.o. which is engaged in manufacturing of agricultural transport vehicles. Subject of this work is to analyze an economic situation of the company and propose possible solutions of the found issues. The main contribution is to provide options for improving the current situation during the commission.

The master’s thesis deals with Czech cosmetic company RYOR a. s. In the theoretical part is described the supply logistics and associated processes. The practical part analyses the supply process of the company. The goal of this thesis is proposal of efficient solution of supply process and integration of the information system. This proposal will be introduced to the company and in the case of interest the company can take advantage of it.

In industries, successful logistics management delivers higher performance and value (time, cost, profits, and quality). Projects involving ports logistics systems are complex to manage due to the level and number of entities to manage, such as the expensive equipment units and the interconnection of the flows of goods and information. In these complex projects, it is difficult to conduct experiments on the real logistics system to help management predict future strategies due to high costs, time and infrastructure constrains. Therefore, to achieve the objectives of managing ports logistics system it requires that managers select the best strategic tools and methods. Simulation is one of the best predictive and strategic tools which allows the use of real-time, real-world data collection to stage mathematical analyses of the “what-if” scenarios. This thesis presents a simulation model for a case study on the port container terminal transportation of the port of Gävle in Sweden. In this model, a simulation approach is developed with a high software engineering maintainability that enables companies to analyse and study various scenarios that are motivated by changes in different inputs to measure their impact on the outputs that include throughput, resource utilization and waiting times. This study method adopted a simulation that covered both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. The main contributions of this study are: (i) developing a simulation program helps improve visibility in decision making process at port industry.(ii) providing a guideline for designing the maintainability of simulation models (iii) The simulation model has proved to be an industrial solution for the case company and its various stakeholders.

La presente tesis está compuesta por 5 capítulos los cuales serán desarrollados líneas abajo. En modo de resumen, el primer capítulo consta del marco teórico, el cual tiene dos apartados. El primero de ellos, los antecedentes que suman un total de 8 tesis entre nacionales e internacionales. Las mismas que nos servirán de ayuda para contextualizar el presente estudio. En segundo lugar, las bases teóricas que constan de libros que ayudaran a poder entender ciertos conceptos e ideas que están mencionados en el estudio realizado. El segundo capítulo, menciona la situación problemática en base a noticias del sector a estudiar, abarca desde el problema inicial hasta los objetivos específicos. El tercer capítulo hace mención de la metodología de trabajo que incluye el tipo de investigación, diseño de la investigación y la operalizaciòn de las variables. En este capítulo se darán a conocer cuáles son las variables dependientes e independientes que pudimos identificar. El proceso de muestreo será también considerado en este capítulo, en donde se ha optado por colocarlo por número de partida y así realizar un análisis especifico. En el capítulo 4, se realizará el desarrollo y aplicación, en el mismo se explicarán las etapas de aplicación de las encuestas. Por último, en el capítulo 5 se explicarán los resultados obtenidos. Luego de analizar cada uno de estos capítulos, se podrán dar las conclusiones y recomendaciones. Cada uno de los resultados obtenidos en el análisis, nos permitirá identificar si existe o no una influencia en el proceso logístico entre el uso del puerto del Callao y el puerto de Matarani para las importadoras de Lubricantes que comercializan a empresas mineras en la región sur. / This thesis is composed of 5 chapters which will be developed below. In summary mode, the first chapter consists of the theoretical framework, which has two sections. The first of them, the background that total a total of 8 theses between national and international. The same ones that will help us to contextualize the present study. Second, the theoretical bases that consist of books that help to understand certain concepts and ideas that are mentioned in the study. The second chapter mentions the problematic situation based on news from the sector studied, ranging from the initial problem to the specific objectives. The third chapter refers to the work methodology that includes the type of research, research design, Operalization of the variables. In this chapter it will be announced which are the dependent and independent variables. The sampling process will also be considered in this chapter, where we have chosen to place it by the starting number and thus carry out a specific analysis. In chapter 4, the development and application will be carried out, in which the stages of application of the surveys will be explained. Finally, chapter 5 will explain the results obtained. After analyzing each of these chapters, conclusions and recommendations can be given. The thesis deals with the application of Lean management in optimizing business processes, namely logistics processes. The author narrows the theoretical view as possible in today's practice to optimize the logistics processes in the real case study of a company. One of the theoretical foundations of modern Japanese approach based on Lean Management is called Toyota Production System. The practical focus of the work lies in analysis of the actual deployment of optimization in company specialized in hotel industry. Finally, thesis evaluates the success of optimization in the organization. The author has proposed some practical pieces of advice and techniques to approach optimization in near future.

Sc. thesis is the analysis of the logistics efficiency of e-commerce firms with special emphasis on the case of SomLivre.com. The efficiency of e-commerce companies will be comparatively evaluated using the Data Evaluation Envelopment Analysis (DEA), which allows the evaluation of the company considered in the case study in relation to other competing firms in the same sector. Results obtained and the DEA evaluation are interpreted to the SomLivre.com case with special emphasis on the logistics process factors, specially the fulfillment or order satisfaction, which may contribute to the improvement of its level of efficiency.

A crescente necessidade de reduzir os prazos e os custos dos empreendimentos de construção e de melhorar a qualidade das edificações e as condições de trabalho tem incentivado a adoção de sistemas pré-fabricados. Entretanto, a adoção desses sistemas exige uma intensa troca de informações entre a obra e a fábrica, de forma a sincronizar a fabricação dos componentes, as operações logísticas e o processo de montagem na obra, principalmente em ambientes engineer-to-order (ETO). Em sistemas do tipo ETO, o pedido do cliente é realizado nas etapas iniciais do projeto, e existe um elevado grau de incerteza principalmente pelo desconhecimento das atividades a serem realizadas. Em ambientes com esse tipo de complexidade, a literatura sugere o uso de Building Information Modeling (BIM) para facilitar o compartilhamento de informações e apoiar a tomada de decisões nesses ambientes, assim como a aplicação de conceitos e princípios da filosofia da Produção Enxuta. Particularmente em relação aos processos de montagem, o uso de BIM 4D pode ser utilizado para simular e analisar algumas operações, apoiando o processo de planejamento e o controle da produção. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo desenvolver um modelo para gestão dos processos logísticos em obras de sistemas pré-fabricados do tipo engineer-to-order com o apoio da modelagem BIM 4D A abordagem metodológica adotada foi Design Science Research (DSR), sendo desenvolvidos dois estudos empíricos. O primeiro foi realizado em colaboração com uma empresa responsável pelo projeto, fabricação e montagem de estruturas pré-fabricadas de concreto, sendo implementadas diversas melhorias em uma obra de uma universidade. O segundo, de caráter descritivo, foi desenvolvido em um empreendimento de construção de shopping center, sendo envolvidas uma empresa gerenciadora de obra e uma empresa que produziu e montou na obra a estrutura pré-fabricada de concreto. However, the adoption of those systems requires an intense exchange of information between the construction site and the plant, in order to synchronize the production of components, logistic operations and site assembly, especially in an engineer-to-order (ETO) environment. In ETO systems, the client’s order is placed at the early design stages, and a high degree of uncertainty exists mostly due to the lack of knowledge about the tasks to be carried out. The literature suggests the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to facilitate the sharing of information and to support decision-making in this type of environment, as well as the application of Lean Production concepts and principles. Particularly in relation to assembly process, the use of 4D BIM modelling can be used to simulate and analyze some operations, supporting production planning and control This research work aims at to devise a model for the management of logistic processes for engineer-to-order prefabricated building systems, with the support of 4D BIM modelling. Design Science Research was the methodological approach adopted in this investigation, and two empirical studies were carried out. The first one was undertaken in close collaboration with a company that designs, manufactures, and assemble prefabricated concrete structures, and some improvements were implemented in a project for a higher education institution. The second was undertaken in a shopping mall project, and two companies were involved: a project management company, and a company that produced and assembled on-site pre-fabricated structures. As a result of this research work, the application of 4D BIM to support decision-making contributed to improve the reliability of the assembly process and to increase productivity, mainly due to the clarity and timeliness of the information made available by 4D models.
