Režimní kampaň proti chartě 77 na stránkách Rudého práva / Regime campaign against Charita 77 on pages of Rudé právo

Kosina, Aleš January 2009 (has links)
"Regime campaign against Charta 77 on pages of Rudé právo" is the name of this diploma work and the definition of the research aim. This research aim is elaborated by qualitative content analysis of chosen media. Diploma work is divided into three main parts which are methodology, historical (theoretical) and analytical. Theoretical part describes historical affairs essential for understanding the role of Charta 77 in context of normalization regime in communistic Czechoslovakia starting from Prague Spring and ending with events leading to the Velvet revolution. In context of opposition movements and new forms of resistance emerging the regime reaction on rise of the opposition is also described. In the structure of historical part the key moment is foundation of Charta 77 and its activities and aims. The role and function of journalism as well as the role of Rudé právo daily in communistic regime is described as important background for regime media campaign understanding. The core of this diploma work is analytical part. It consists of content analysis of Rudé právo daily in period of first three months of 1977. The base of the content analysis is each single article in Rudé právo related to Charta 77 and chartists. Analytical part is divided into three parts. Each part analyzes one research...

Social workers in the transition of social welfare : A descriptive-dialogical enquiry

Ntebe, Ann Beatrice January 1994 (has links)
Magister Artium (Social Work) - MA(SW) / The time period of this study is the contemporary first half of the Nineties, a momentous time in the history of South Africa. The country is passing from apartheid (the "old" South Africa) to the hope of democracy (the "new" South Africa). Nelson Mandela was inaugurated as President of South Africa in May 1994. Social workers, too, find themselves in transition. What is the thinking of experienced progressive social workers at this historical moment, concerning themselves and their profession within its context of social welfare as societal institution? This is the question I explore, specifically with reference to senior social workers within the area of greater Cape Town It is important to note that in terms of the research philosophy underlying this enquiry, the methodological process of the thesis is integral to its substance. My approach, along "New Paradigm" lines, is descriptive dialogical. Implicit in it is a "confrontation of the positivistic epistemology of 'The Scientific Method' in the misguided sense of an 'absolute and only' method of science, which unfortunately is still prevalent in standard practices of enquiry inside and outside the university" (see Note [i] at the end of this Summary). My thesis therefore offers not only outcomes but, as much as possible, also the process of the enquiry. A descriptive-dialogical approach also takes the idea of narrative seriously, "narrative being a mode that makes room for in fact, that insists on more than merely written presentation" (see Note [ii] at the end of this Summary). My research philosophy and methodology accommodate as far as possible "the whole academic and professional potential of a student, rather than just the student's writing potential" (see Note [iii] at the end of this Summary). In line with this, I submit as an accompaniment to this writing -- and as holistically intrinsic to this thesis -- a relevant video-recording and audio recordings illustrating myself at work in the execution of this study. In conclusion of this Summary I must indicate my promoter's and my own serious commitment to the possibility of creative indigenousness of academic style and presentation. This must be viewed within African and South African context, and it explains much of the "humanistically holistic" tenor of this study. This, of course, is in no way intended to discount the worthwhileness and substantiality, in fact the necessity for us, of recourse to the best tenets of European and Euro-American university tradition.

Normalizace hyperspektrálních obrazových dat / Normalization of hyperspectral image data

Grísa, Tomáš January 2013 (has links)
The airborne hyperspectral remote sensing is used as an approach to monitor and analyse actual state of environmental components. This thesis deals with hyperspectral image data, especially it is focused on normalization with respect to scanning angle. The thesis proposes specific algorithm, which is based on the statistical analysis of spectral lines across the scan line and on a physical models describing the process of spectral reflectance. An important part of this thesis is software implementation of proposed algorithm, that allows to calculate required normalization for real datasets.

Représentations vectorielles et apprentissage automatique pour l’alignement d’entités textuelles et de concepts d’ontologie : application à la biologie / Vector Representations and Machine Learning for Alignment of Text Entities with Ontology Concepts : Application to Biology

Ferré, Arnaud 24 May 2019 (has links)
The impressive increase in the quantity of textual data makes it difficult today to analyze them without the assistance of tools. However, a text written in natural language is unstructured data, i.e. it cannot be interpreted by a specialized computer program, without which the information in the texts remains largely under-exploited. Among the tools for automatic extraction of information from text, we are interested in automatic text interpretation methods for the entity normalization task that consists in automatically matching text entitiy mentions to concepts in a reference terminology. To accomplish this task, we propose a new approach by aligning two types of vector representations of entities that capture part of their meanings: word embeddings for text mentions and concept embeddings for concepts, designed specifically for this work. The alignment between the two is done through supervised learning. The developed methods have been evaluated on a reference dataset from the biological domain and they now represent the state of the art for this dataset. These methods are integrated into a natural language processing software suite and the codes are freely shared.

"Kdo nepracuje, ať nejí" : Fenomén "příživnictví" v socialistickém Československu / "He who does not work, does not eat" : Phenomenon of "social parasitism" in socialist Czechoslowakia

Mejzr, Martin January 2019 (has links)
Presented diploma thesis is occupied with issues of so-called "social parasitism" in the socialist Czechoslovakia in early normalization era. It follows existence of a law term "social parasitism", or more precisely independent paragraph which criminalized "fishy ways of livelihood" and "avoiding righteous job" within the Czechoslovakia penal code. I would like to observe this marginal social phenomenon in a broad perspective. So-called "social parasitism" is understood as a normative, disciplinary and symbolical category which defined basic value hierarchy of socialistic society and had to help make a new consensus for conditions consolidations in 1968. The focal point of the thesis is considering on the environment of Prague in 1969-75 with an aim to analyse the function and role of "social parasitism" in political administration of district authorities, media discourse of local press and in a practice of security authority. The "social parasitism" oppression is explained as an attempt of communist dictatorship and its institutions for creating a moral panic as a restoration tool of undermined legitimacy power in the eyes of Czechoslovakian society after 1968. Key words: social parasitism, criminality, social disciplination, moral panic, Normalization time in Czechoslovakia

Bucharová, Linda January 2015 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the history and the development of the gas industry in Czechoslovakia, namely the construction of the transit gas pipeline and development of the gas transit system. One of the part of this thesis is a history of the coal gas and the reasons for its gradual replacement by a natural gas. The metodology of this thesis is based mainly on interviews based on the method of oral history, on archival records, and contemporary literature. Primarily it is focused on oral history fieldwork, particularly on the personal experiences of narrators who were direct participants in the construction. This work is also focused on the circumstances of the negotiations of the construction of a transit gas pipeline and further expansion of the transit system from the seventies to the nineties of the 20th century. Keywords Transit pipeline, natural gas, gas industry, economy, energetics, coal gas, normalization

Vnímání studia na Vysoké škole ekonomické v Praze v období normalizace jejími tehdejšími studenty / Students view of their former studies on Prague's University of Economics during the period of so-called normalization in Czechoslovakia

Doležal, Petr January 2018 (has links)
In this diploma thesis I have analyzed the view of University of Prague's former students towards their studies in the so called normalization era in Czechoslovakia. The aim of this study was to discover how much different were the former studies compared to the current ones. The accent was pointed primarily on economic sciences. Apart from the theoretical economical education was also the ideological way of education influence analyzed. The result of such analysis should then answer the question whether the education during the normalization period was entirely ideologically manipulated and totally uncorresponding with the today's education of economics, as many laics believe, or not. I have also uncovered the fact whether the former indoctrinated education can be practically applied by former students in their current laissez fair oriented employment. Although this study confirms, based on former students and educators narratives, relatively significant occurrence of communism ideology in university's education as a whole, the professionalism of purely economic oriented sciences at VŠE though, cannot be disclaimed. Ideologically affected subjects were therefore necessary, but at the same time they were only a partial complement of the highly valuable scientific economical education at University...

Vývoj a proměny Československé a České televize v 80. a 90. letech 20. století očima zaměstnanců / Development and transformation of Czechoslovak and Czech television in 1980s and 1990s

Zemanová, Tereza January 2018 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to describe, through the oral history method, the development and certain changes of the Czechoslovak and later Czech television in the 1980s and 1990s as observed by ordinary employees of this institution. The work focuses on the everyday lives of technical and administrative workers and it is delimited by the years 1980 and 1998 which was the year the tenure of Ivo Mathé, the first general manager of CT, ended. The main subjects of interest are the basic work conditions such as salaries, working hours and employee care arising from the collective bargaining agreement. Furthermore, the work deals with the workplace atmosphere and relationships, and loyalty of the employees towards the institution. Apart from the description of the respective topics the work aims to cover the changes of everydayness in connection with the So-called transformation of the society, or compare the 1980s with the time following the November of 1989.

Thermal Evolution of Moon

Gill, Arshdeep Singh 01 March 2017 (has links)
In August, 2014 three experiments were conducted using infrared systems deployed at White Mountain Research center, CA. The data was acquired for the whole month of August. Teams of 3-4 students from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and UC Santa Barbara were stationed at the research center for 2-3 days to operate the equipment. The three experiments were:(1) creating spatial-temporal time series of lunar surface temperatures;(2) identifying atmospheric meteor trails;(3) search for meteor impacts on the Moon surface. Out of the three this thesis focusses on experiment 1 and the results from this experiment could also help with the other experiments. We propose to use a thermal infrared camera mounted on a telescope to acquire time-series observations of lunar surface temperatures to get a novel insight into the thermal evolution of the Moon over a complete lunar cycle. Half a lunar cycle would account from morning to night and lasts for approximately 14.75 days. Seeing how the pixel value changes from morning to night the pixel and temperature trends can be observed throughout the day. Apart from that one can get the two temperature peaks that could maybe help to get an estimate for the Thermal inertia of the surface in the presence of Moon regolith. The temperature trends and the thermal inertia could potentially provide some insight for methods that seek to determine the properties of asteroids from ground based observations.
