Subject-matter of this graduation theses is analysis of retail network with groceries in city Kroměříž. Target of analysis is description and evaluation of position and signification particular stores on market with groceries in Kroměříž. Graduation theses targets retail stores that keep trading strings. At these stores is charted: localization, service area, stream buying, buying atmosphere and space solution of interior. Graduation theses adverts to factors, that are important for customers if they decide, where will they buy groceries. At the close of graduation theses is described immediate incoming progress in retail with groceries in Czech Republic.

This diploma thesis aims to review and assess a current state of Czech retail market with fast-moving consumer goods and to analyze a logistic base of leading retail chains doing business in the Czech Republic. A reader can learn about development of retail in the last few years, but also about prediction of the future trends. Based on the theoretical background regarding retail and logistics, the analysis of particular leading companies is made. Moreover, possible future efficiency improvements of companies' process which could lead to better market position are considered. The result of the thesis is the clear picture of well operating retail chain, its logistics and a flow of the goods into the retail market as a whole.

The objective of the thesis “Critical Analysis of the new retail and estimation of its future development” is to present a close overview about retail real estate issue in Czech Republic. First chapters are focused on theoretical issues of the retail. The practical part is focused on space-time analysis of market characteristics in the Czech Republic, which provides theoretical insights and diffusion process of expansion of shopping centers. The outcome of this paper is an estimation of the future development of the new retail from the optimistic, realistic, and pessimistic views of the market characteristics, and a definition of the competitive parameters of the retail development.

[pt] As grandes redes do varejo revolucionaram seus sistemas logísticos posicionando Centros de Distribuição – CDs – perto aos grandes centros urbanos. Esta estratégia possibilitaria mantê-los próximos aos pontos de venda para um rápido ressuprimento, por proporcionar condições favoráveis para lidarem mais facilmente com os problemas de tráfego crescente, que restringem o acesso dos grandes caminhões aos centros urbanos e, além disso, associado a um amplo espectro de motivos, visava à otimização dos processos logísticos. O presente estudo tem como objetivo mensurar os benefícios econômicos resultantes desta nova estratégia logística implementada por organizações de varejo na adoção de Centros de Distribuição. Estes ganhos estão relacionados com os seguintes fatores: (i) redução nos custos de transporte originados dos fornecedores, (ii) redução de custos operacionais e de estoque, (iii) liberação de espaço nobre nas lojas para a exposição de mercadorias e estacionamento, (iv) redução de mão de obra devido à centralização dos controles dos produtos recebidos, e (v) redução da incidência da falta de produto. Por outro lado, a cadeia de varejo internaliza alguns custos relativos à operação do Centro de Distribuição, como os custos operacionais do CD e os de transporte de mercadorias deste às lojas. Este estudo qualifica esses fatores apoiando-se em literatura científica e quantifica esses custos de maneira empírica. / [en] Large retail chains have revolutionized their logistics systems positioning Distribution Centers - CDs - near large urban centers. This strategy would enable them to stay close to the outlets for a quick resupply, by providing favorable conditions in order to deal more easily with the growing traffic problems, which restrict access of large trucks to urban centers, and furthermore, associated with a wide spectrum of reasons, aimed to the optimization of logistics processes. The present study aims to measure the economic benefits of this new logistics strategy implemented by retail organizations in the adoption of Distribution Centers. These gains are related to the following factors: (i) reduction in transportation costs arising from suppliers, (ii) reduction of inventory and operating costs, (iii) release of prime space in stores for parking and display of goods, (iv)reduction of manpower due to the centralization of control of incoming goods, and (v) reduction of stock-outs. On the other hand, the retail chain internalizes some costs related to the operation of the distribution center, as operating costs, and freight from the CD to the stores. This study describes these factors relying on scientific literature and quantifies these costs empirically.

This diploma thesis named Civic amenities in Pacov in the 1960s examines a civic amenities in the town of Pacov in the 1960s within regional history. The main purpose of this thesis is to describe the development of defined areas of civic amenities (health care, retail network, communal services) providing some (basic) needs of citizens in the chosen city and time period. The primary source of this research are the archival sources from the examined period. This thesis at first introduces the research topic and purposes of the work, important concepts and sources used, then the national historical context of the examined period. The main part of the thesis follows: a description of the development of specific areas of civic amenities. The thesis ends with visual materials related to the topic. The main aim o the present thesis was to evaluate the shopping conditions in the area of the town Klatovy and to define geografically the selling units in this area plus to suggest the possibilities for improvement. Another aim of this thesis was to give an overall view into the retailing units in this area.

Thesis describes main development trends of retail industry and its network in the Czech Republic as well as changes in consumers' behaviour and in the position of Czech retailers on the basis of available statistical data and findings of surveys since 1993 to the present and near future.
