Gestão de pessoas internacional no contexto esportivo brasileiro : uma análise dos processos de expatriação e repatriação de jogadores em um clube de futebol gaúcho

Machado, Felipe Santos January 2013 (has links)
The fact that mega sporting events are held in Brazil reflects the new Brazilian position in the world scene; and the problems regarding the need of professionalization of management practices in sports became emergent. Summing this fact to the growing internationalization of Brazilian soccer and the increase in circulation of our sports talents for different countries emerges the demand of studies contributing to the understanding of management models of clubs and problems involving players increasingly inserted in a global scene. It becomes at the same time fundamental understanding the enterprisation processes and their importance to the growth of sports institutions, nevertheless it should be thought in the professionalization and development of management policies and practices that consider the cultural aspects of sports. This study lies in the fields of international people management and sports management, deals the expatriation and repatriation of Brazilian soccer players. The aim of this research is to identify and analyse how the expatriation and repatriation processes of players are structured in a soccer club from Rio Grande do Sul and how these processes are perceived and conducted in front of the current reality of Brazilian sports management. Methodology used consisted of a qualitative case of study, in which 22 semi-structured interviews were conducted, specifically, ten with soccer professionals, six with soccer entrepreneurs and six with managers of a soccer club from Rio Grande do Sul. The thematic categorical analysis was used as a content analysis method to interpret the interviews conducted. The main results in this research were: (i) From the understanding of the changes in the clubs management and the leaving and returning of players scene in a systematic and longitudinal manner, there is a possibility of arising new conducting ways of international transference of players processes and the own ways of thinking the clubs participation in the management of their sports talents; (ii) Sports organization management may be aligned to the player‟s career planning and management, even in a profit logic, if it takes in consideration a strategic view of human resource management in sports and performs the management of a sports talent and not of a simple product to be commercialized; (iii) There seems to be great opportunities to think policies and practices of people strategic management in sports taking into consideration the new scene made, even with the evident challenges. It is believed in a substantial gain for clubs and players, enhancing the possibilities of financial and performance return, mitigating the possibilities of failure in the conduct of expatriation and repatriation processes.

Risk management in sport at selected secondary schools

Young, Marie Elizabeth Magdalena 27 October 2008 (has links)
M.Phil. / South Africa’s re-admission into international sport has contributed to the increase in the number of participants in sport in the country. Government also aims to promote and deliver programmes to develop sport at all levels of participation. The bodies responsible for these programmes are also responsible for policy development in sport on national and local level but not for the development of policies in sport at secondary school level. It is the responsibility of the Department of Education and related bodies for sport at school level such as USSASA. Sport participation at secondary school level could lead to potential injuries or permanent disabilities. The South African Constitution (Act 108 of 1996) does not focus on the management of sport or risks within school sport as it does not deal with specific issues or social activities but only provides a broad framework regulating all social activities including sport. Safety in school sport becomes part of risk management and not enough emphasis is placed on minimising the risks of injuries and law suits against the management of schools or sport managers, coaches or administrators. The problem is thus to identify and assess current practices that are related to the management of school sport in order to recommend guidelines for policy, procedures and practices for risk management in sport at secondary schools in Gauteng. Out of a population of 450 secondary schools, a sample of n=170 schools were drawn. Only 37 questionnaires were returned, but the results obtained still provided meaningful insights with regard to the management of risks in sport. In evaluating current risks management practises through descriptive statistical methods the conclusion could be reached that in general sport managers are aware of the legal responsibility towards participants in sport and that there is a perceived need to enhance certain legal liability aspects at secondary schools. / Prof. C. An analysis of opportunities and trends in the sport business industry with a focus on entrepreneurship and small, medium, micro enterprises

Mothilall, Kush 27 May 2013 (has links)
M.Tech. (Sport Management) / This exploratory study was a situational analysis of the sport business industry with a specific focus on SMME’s and entrepreneurship. The study subsequently aimed to determine entrepreneurial opportunities in the sport domain. A survey questionnaire was administered to 250 small business entrepreneurs plying their trade in the broad South African sport industry. SMME’s were identified through CIPRO, online business databases, and snowballing. A stratified sample was selected through various non-probability sampling techniques. The survey was administered through a combination of post, email, and hand-delivery. A satisfactory yet representative response rate of 49% was realized. Although the geographic specificity of the electronic and postal surveys are not evenly spread through-out the country, it does lean towards SMME’s in the major urban and semi-urban metropolitan regions of the country. The hand-delivered survey was concentrated in the greater Durban region. Nonetheless, the researcher is of the opinion that the results obtained can provide an insightful and meaningful exposition into the opportunities and trends affecting SMME’s in the sport business industry in South Africa. The SPSS program was utilized to descriptively and inferentially analyze the data. The sport SMME sector in South Africa was found to be relatively young. The small business entrepreneur demographic profile found entrepreneurs to be mainly male, middle-aged and well-educated. Owner-managers were found to have had completed business or entrepreneurship training with varying years experience in the sport business industry. Company properties revealed that based on the age of sport businesses, SMME’s were spread through the start-up, growth, and mature business stages. The vast majority of the sample was categorized as small enterprises. From a legal perspective, most businesses were registered as close corporations. About a third of all SMME’s were registered with a plethora of business associations and agencies thus giving effect to the inherent cross-cutting nature of the sport industry being prominently felt in various spheres of business and industry. SMME’s were also found to be complying to the principles of B-B BEE with encouraging signs of previously disadvantaged ownership.

Sportovní management v klubu Lev Praha / Sports Management in the club HC Lev Praha

Grebennikov, Dmitry January 2012 (has links)
This thesis deals with the management activities of the hockey club HC Lev Praha, which operates in a multinational league KHL. The aim of this thesis is to identify the causes of poor management performance, clarify and determine the consequences of assumptions (hypotheses) for future developments in the club. Finding the necessary information ensures environmental observation and communication with the personnel responsible aforementioned club. Additional facts and data will be detected directly from the suppliers of products and services. The benefit of the thesis will uncover so far unknown areas internationally, which by means of analysis and description will find out the current situation and help outline possible direction of development. A bonus of this thesis is the publication of the costs that workers had to face before the start of the first season of the Prague club.

The Influence of Repeat Attendance and Stakeholder Type on Value Co-creation in Recurring Sport Event Setting

Jones, Charles W., Byon, Kevin K. 21 June 2018 (has links)
Building on Service-Dominant Logic, the Sport Value Framework, and the Psychological Continuum Model, this study is a micro-level perspective of value co-creation in spectator sport. By examining sport through the VCC lens, the dual role of the customer as both a contributor to and a beneficiary of value is acknowledged and the importance of stakeholder interactions is emphasized. The objective of this study was to develop a conceptual model of sport consumption value co-creation, to analyze the extent to which two theoretically and managerially important factors—attendance frequency (i.e., first-time attendee vs. repeat attendee) and stakeholder type (i.e., local resident vs. domestic traveler)—impact value co-creation in the recurring live sport event setting. Findings suggest that antecedent value propositions may have a stronger association with economic components of value for first-time spectators, but a stronger association with hedonic and social value dimensions for repeat spectators—and for domestic travelers, organization-related value propositions can have a stronger influence on hedonic value than is experienced by local residents.
