Vybraná dějová jména ve slovníku Le Petit Robert / Selected Event nouns in "Le Petit Robert" dictionnarySUCHÁ, Alena January 2013 (has links)
The aim of present work is to summarize and describe theories treating action nominals and to use some of these on a sample of French nouns. The introduction treats the characteristics of action nominals, as well as the question of classification of action nominals in regard of the parts of speech system. The second part mentions main theoretical studies on process of nominalization. What comes next is the summary of nominalization types based on their creation, thus division to action, resultative and other nominals. The third part of present work is the practial one. It describes the method of choosing the sample from the dictionary Le Petit Robert as well as analyses made by means of the said dictionary and the programe SketchEngine.

The diploma thesis describes the selected event nominals in the legal texts specifically in the corpus named CORTE. The approaches of these nominals were selected in the relevant bibliography and the diploma thesis focuses especially on the themes and on the criterions which are used to define the event nominals. On the basis of these definitions the selected event nominals will be assess with regard to their action or non-action meanings, valency and colocability with verbs and also to their semantic properties. Furthermore, it is analyzed the relationship between the base and the derivation suffix on the one hand and semantic properties of the event nominals on the other. The corpus CORTE is used for the analysis, SketchEngine, web interface, and program Paraconc serve to find out the information about event nominals.

The objective of this Dissertation is to study the morphophonological structure of the future verb forms in Archaic Portuguese (AP) spoken during the so-called archaic period (late 12th C until mid 14th C), in order to establish whether these forms can be considered simple forms (a single phonological word) or compound or periphrastic (two phonological words). In other words, our objective is to determine if at the studied period these forms were analytical (formed with the infinitive of the main verb + verb aver in the present, the future indicative, or by the infinitive of the main verb + aver/ir in the past imperfect) or synthetic (base form + theme vowel + mood-time inflection + person-number inflection). The corpus is formed of 420 Cantigas de Santa Maria by Afonso X edited by Mettmann (1986a, 1988, 1989). Firstly, all future forms found in the corpus were mapped, quantified and classified as to their type (apparently synthetic or positively analytic) and these data were related with the occurrence of clitics and the stress position. The results obtained were analyzed according to criteria used in former studies (MASSINI-CAGLIARI, 1999, 2006) to distinguish simple and compound forms. The degree of grammaticalization between the main verb and the auxiliary of future was also analyzed according with criteria determined by Bybee, Pagliuca e Perkins (1991). The results show that the future indicative and conditional tenses in MP must be regarded as analytical forms, formed with whether the infinitive of the main verb and verb aver conjugated in the present indicative, in the case of future indicative, or the infinitive of the main verb and verb aver/ir conjugated in the past imperfect indicative, in the case of the conditional. The fact that the parts forming these verbs could be written separately (and even invertedly in some cases), and also that a preposition... (Complete abstract click electronic access below)

Investigando a influência de fatores linguísticos na organização lexical de verbos / Investigating the influence of linguistic factors in the lexical organization of verbsGermann, Daniel Cerato January 2010 (has links)
This dissertation uses computational simulations designed to investigate the influence of three linguistic factors in the lexical organization of verbs, analyzing the process of acquisition and use. The tested factors are: frequency of observation in the language, polysemy and syntactic complexity. The data used were obtained from psycholinguistic action naming tasks performed by children and adults (speakers of Brazilian Portuguese), and subsequently represented as graphs. Based on linguistic factors, hypotheses were formulated concerning the development of language, tested through simulations called ‘involutions’. Tests include graph theory metrics and set similarity measures (Jaccard’s coefficient and its components). Results suggest a confirmation of the given hypotheses. Additionally, allowed verification of some language development features, such as vocabulary growth and a progressive specialization.

Previous issue date: 2017-04-10 / n this research, we investigated the factors that concern to the verbal agreement of
3rd person plural in textual productions of students from 9th grade and the 3rd year
of Secondary Education in two schools in the city of Juazeiro-BA, one public, located
in a neighborhood, peripheral, and the other private, located next to the city center.
The analysis was performed according to the Sociolinguistic Principles of
Labov (LABOV, 1996, 1972). To do so, it analyzes the textual production of
78 pupils, on basis of two Textual Genres, being that 31 texts (13 Personal
Reports and 18 Dissertative-Argumentative text) showed absence of verbal
agreement. The 47 remaining texts (between personal account and Dissertative-
Argumentative text) showed no occurrences of absence of verbal agreement. In
general, the results showed us that, regardless of the level of schooling, or even to
be a school whether public or private, the rate of non-verb agreement
was still similar, as soon as in 08 productions of 9 year from public schools and 08
productions of the private school, totaling 16 productions and 08 productions of the
3rd grade of public school and 07 productions of the area, totaling 15 productions,
presented deviations from the use of verbal agreement. We realized that the textual
genre Personal Report was not so favorable to incidence of deviations of agreement,
but the opinion texts, which is a kind of argumentation, the incidence of deviations of
concordance was quite evident. However, it is perceived that many of these
detours occur in structures verb-subject and with verbs that have less salience
phonics as demonstrated by studies of Naro & Scherre (1997; 1999), Rodrigues
(1987), Bortoni-Ricardo (1985).Thus, based on these data, we've developed and
applied a sequence of activities on the verb-subject agreement, supported on the
sociolinguistic principles, for which these students could better understand the
relationship of agreement and, therefore, use them in more proficient way. Fact that
has proved by comparison of the writings and the rewrites ones of thepupils, as well
as by the reflection undertaken by the students during the exercises proposed in the
didactic sequences.

Previous issue date: 2009-04-27 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / This study aims at reflecting on the description of the verb bater, under the
approach of the pragmatic-semantic-syntactic aspects. Our proposition is to show a
trajectory which starts from the most concrete to the most abstract, considering the
contexts into which the verb is inserted and the functions performed by it in its
most abstract form. In this sense, the following questions will be answered: 1.
Which are the pragmatic-semantic-syntactic relations related to the use of the
constructions with the verb bater? 2. Which is the relation between the Complex
Lexical Constructions and the metaphor, and how to establish a typology to
identify them, considering their supposed literal correlates? 3. How to correlate
metaphor vs prototype? In order to treat the phenomenon of the metaphor dealt
with in this study, it was adopted the cognitive linguistics of experiential base of
Lakoff and Johnson (1980-2002, p. 68), through the interface that this area of study
establishes with functional linguistics. Lakoff and Johnson (2002) introduced an
important contribution to a new direction of the linguistic studies, when finding
that a large part of the statements of everyday language are metaphorical. They
affirm that The processes of thought are largely metaphorical . (LAKOFF and
JOHNSON, 2002, p. 48). We start from the point of view that it is necessary to
consider a methodological posture that might include man as a producer of
11
meaningful speeches. Thus, we believe that understanding the pragmatic-semanticsyntactic
relations which are behind the verb, implies seeing and thinking the
language in use in a reflexive way, contributing to the process of dynamic
construction carried out by and among speakers inserted in social-cultural contexts.
The discussion centered on the grammatical focus, though recurrent, still leaves
doubts and raises a lot of questioning, due to fluctuations which are presented
about the linguistic functions: for example, in the uses of the verb bater, an action
verb whose characteristic is always an aspect of activity attached to the subject and,
thus, is a verb which comprises an active sentence indicating something performed
by part of the subject. However, we notice that there are times when it is
performed with the help of a noun, whose result of this conjunction reveals other
meanings. They are the uses in which the sense is specific with the verbal form
bater plus a noun like in bater-boca, bater com a língua nos dentes, bater de
frente, among others. These polysemic uses were investigated in the Folha de S.
Paulo corpus, referring to the years 1998, 1999, 2007 and 2008. Such uses present a
common form called Complex Lexical Constructions with the verb bater. Our
objective was to contribute to the interdisciplinary movement of the Functionalist
Theory with the Metaphor Conceptual Theory.
2. Qual a relação entre as Construções Lexicais
A discussão
centrada no foco gramatical, apesar de recorrente, ainda deixa dúvidas e suscita
muitos questionamentos, devido às flutuações que se apresentam em torno das
funções linguisticas, por exemplo, nos usos de bate r, um verbo de ação cuja
característica é sempre um aspecto de atividade atrelado ao sujeito, portanto, um
verbo que compõe uma frase ativa que indica um fazer por parte do sujeito.
Entretanto, observamos que há ocasiões em que ele se realiza com o auxílio de um
nome, cujo resultado dessa conjunção revela outros sentidos.

-- This article analyzes the serial verb constructions (SVC) of Mapudungun, an indigenous language spoken in the southern region of Argentina —mainly in the provinces of La Pampa, Neuquén, Río Negro y Chubut.Traditional investigations of Mapudungun have considered verbs constituted by two or more verbal roots as complex lexemes. From a typological trend, which defines SVC as a sequence of verbs that functions as a unique predicate, without presenting coordination or subordination elements betweenthem, we analyze Mapudungun SVC and, thus, establish a typology, their semantic values and the appearance frequency in the corpora we gathered for this investigation.
