John Ruskin: “Books for people mean the same thing as wings for birds”. From the project inception , the idea was to create pleasant and synoptic inner space for users of the library which would attract them to come in and enjoy the atmosphere. Compact form of the building is the reaction to the surrounding disparate urban structure. The proposed building doesnt only serve to its own purpose, but also defines a new outdoor space where residents can meet , interact or just relax on the journey to the center.

Architecture study of City Library of Přerov situated close to the river Bečva. Building site Na Marku was chosen after the winter semester analitic part.

Master 's thesis Městská knihovna v Přerově is developing the new city library for town Přerov. This project is based on semestral project strategy for library, which was searching for the best place for the building. Master's thesis is situating the new city library in waterfront area Na Marku, near the new Tyršův most.

The aim is to find the approach to the transformation of cultural constructions of 70 - 80 years of the 20th century, which gradually become obsolete, both technically and morally. An example may be a conglomerate cultural center, cinema and Technology Museum, located in the central zone of Koprivnica, which after radical renewal in the second half of the 20th century did not final, complete and functional form.

The samples were doubly implanted at 450°c with 45 Kev and 25 Kev ions, for a dose of 10^16/cm^2 at each energy.</p> <p> An n-i-p structure with a thick insulator region was found after annealing at 1000°c. The thickness of this i region could be substantially reduced with additional annealing at higher temperatures, and a fairly good n-p junction was obtained after 1480°c anneal.</p> <p> About 20-30% of the implanted nitrogen ions were found to be electrically active.</p> <p> The C-V behaviour was found to have large variations with the a.c. measuring frequency.</p> / Thesis / Master of Engineering (MEngr)

One-dimensional vertical nanostructures, nanowire arrays, are investigated for applications in photovoltaics. Specifically, III-V core-shell p-i-n nanowire arrays are grown by molecular beam epitaxy on silicon substrates, using the self-assisted vapour-liquid-solid growth method. GaAs1-xPx nanowires are grown with an optimized composition to maximize the potential efficiency of a GaAsP nanowire-on-silicon tandem solar cell under AM1.5G illumination. Photovoltaic devices are fabricated and assessed by optical and electrical characterization techniques, to identify areas for refinement of device design and processing. Combining the unique properties of nanowire arrays, the quality and tunability of III-V materials, and the economics and infrastructure of silicon-based device fabrication, this work examines a novel approach to affordable renewable energy. Methods of substrate removal via etching are investigated for optical characterization of nanowire arrays, and an improved technique for electrical characterization of ITO contacts is explored. The first nanowire-on-silicon tandem device utilizing a radial p-n junction nanowire structure is reported, achieving an open circuit voltage of 1.2 V, a short circuit current density of 7.6 mA/cm2, a fill factor of 40%, and an efficiency of 3.5%. Finally, projects for future improvements to the work described herein are suggested. / Thesis / Master of Applied Science (MASc)
