Salvador

Close-Spaced Vapor Transport for III-V Solar Absorbing Devices

Greenaway, Ann 10 April 2018 (has links)
Capture of the energy in sunlight relies mainly on the use of light-absorbing semiconductors, in solar cells and in water-splitting devices. While solar cell efficiency has increased dramatically since the first practical device was made in 1954, production costs for the most-efficient solar absorbers, III-V semiconductors, remain high. This is largely a result of use of expensive, slow growth methods which rely on hazardous gas-phase precursors. Alternative growth methods are necessary to lower the cost for III-V materials for use in solar cells and improve the practicality of water-splitting devices. The research goal of this dissertation is two-fold: to expand the capabilities of close-spaced vapor transport, an alternative growth method for III-Vs to demonstrate its compatibility with current technologies; and to explore the fundamental chemistry of close-spaced vapor transport as a growth method for these materials. This dissertation surveys plausibly lower-cost growth methods for III-V semiconductors (Chapter II) and presents in-depth studies on the growth chemistry of two ternary III-Vs: GaAs1-xPx (Chapter III) and Ga1-xInxP (Chapter IV). Finally, the growth of GaAs microstructures which could be utilized in a water-splitting device is studied (Chapter V). This dissertation includes previously published and unpublished co-authored material. / 2019-01-09

The impact of consumer behavior on the vegetables marketing in Yemen Republic

Al-Gahaifi, Tarish H.N. January 2011 (has links)
The aim of this thesis to analysis factors influencing consumer behavior and his/her purchase decision making when buying vegetables, and its impact on marketing of vegetable in Republic of Yemen. The study depend on number of hypothesis, the most important of them was that there are many cultural, social, and economical factors influencing Yemeni consumer behavior which in turn effect on agricultural marketing in the country. Based on the obtained results it is obvious that in the chosen statistical data about the development in production and consumption of vegetables in the Republic of Yemen, increasing in the cultivated area of vegetables within study period (19952009) led to rise in its production and thus in available to consumption. On the other side there was a deficit in all marketing functions of agricultural products. From the given analysis for factors influencing Yemeni consumer behavior it can be concluded that factors price, occasions, discontent, and time of purchase showed a high degree of influence on the behavior of Yemeni consumer when buying vegetables, while factors habit, display, sorting, and the location of seller suggests medium influence, and the influence was low for wordmouth, for factors quality, personal relationship between consumer and buyer, and recommendation of family and friends the influence was high and medium. On the other hand the small sell units are dominating to buy in Yemen.

Práce a význam zdravotních klaunů / Work and Importance of Medical Clowns

Berka, Tomáš January 2016 (has links)
This master thesis presents a view of work and impotence of medical clowns in Czech hospital facilities. It unveils the organizational structure and history of the same name company, which sponsors medical clowns in the Czech Republic. It presents all the important parts of complex performance that are essential for medical clowns. Therefore, the clowns are able to visit patients and use their artistic performance to pozitively influence their psychical condition. This leads to patients‘ physical health improvement. The thesis defines „klauniáda“ as a means to reach those goals and presents specific patters of theatrical performace in hospital facilities. It deals with structure of klauniády with use of particular stories, author’s life experience and proffesional researches. It also answers the questions related to the medical clowns‘ contribution.
