The purpose of this diploma work is to introduce zootherapy and therapy dog and to determine the possibilities of employing therapy dogs in education of children in elementary and special schools. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the description of zootherapy, its forms and methods. It also deals with preparation and exams for therapists. Lastly there is a section on therapy dogs, their personality and preparation for this field of work. You can also find some information on how to choose the best puppy using the puppy aptitude test. The practical part of this thesis deals with the employment of animal assisted therapy at normal and speial schools. The results had been achieved through interviews that I had made with therapists who use dogs at schools and also through obseration during those classes.

Přínosy metody Persona Dolls v anti-předsudkové výchově / Benefits of Persona Dolls method in anti-prejudice education

The aim of this thesis is to find out the benefits of Persona Dolls method in connection with prejudices. The first chapter of its theoretical part deals with changes in the field of education after year 1989 and with the process of creating pivotal curricular documents (so called General Educational Programme) which have been used in Czech school system since then. The second chapter describes particular parts of General Educational Programme for pre-primary and primary education as well as the conception of curricular documents related to Persona Dolls method. The most important chapter of the theoretical part is defining the Persona Dolls method itself. This chapter outlines the theoretical basis, principles and prospective benefits of this method, and gives instructions how to use the method in a class. Moreover, certain pitfalls associated with using this method are mentioned as well. The last chapter of the theoretical part contains detailed description of the coherence of Persona Dolls method and curricular documents. This diploma thesis presents monographic study that deals with the autonomy of schools in the context of the idea of the Waldorf School and philosophical convictions of its founder Rudolf Steiner. The content itself brings a particular identification, analysis and description of the basic principles of Steiner's ideas of Social Threefolding. For better grip and insights into this topic in the introductory chapters with the concept of autonomy as the general context, and given directly to the school autonomy. Further insight on school administration and local government and various school systems in the European area. The work also includes historical and political context of the time of different directions of reform pedagogy 19th and 20th century, which proved, among other things, as one of the key conditions for understanding the concept of free Waldorf school Rudolf Steiner and the conditions under which it was created. This thesis is centered on the subject of the form of cooperation between the kindergarten, the primary school and the family to prepare the children and their families for the least problematic transition into primary level education.The theoretical part of the thesis is characterised as focusing on the confluence of pre-school education and primary school education and in particular in this section I measure the depth of understanding of the topic of preparing children for entering schooling. Subsequently I bring attention to the possible risks which can appear when a child starts primary school and I look into the cooperation of the family and the school in the curriculum documentation. In the practical part of the thesis the basis is action research from actual dialogues with teachers who teach the first grades, I attempt to uncover which classifications of cooperation between the kindergarten, primary school and family will have the most positive effect on enabling the smoothest transition to the new environment. I described effective methods of cooperation which will encourage the smoothest induction of children to the new school, and I mention the possibilities of how to inform the family of possible challenges which can appear in certain circumstances. Diploma thesis focuses on cybernetics and information literacy with emphasis on the human element in these topics. The first part describes cybernetics with its two basic terms, which are information and management, as a theoretical resource for subsequent detection of information, resp. internet literacy among students of high scholls and universities. The practical part includes creation of questionnaire, articulation of hypotheses for factual and perceived level of information literacy and subsequent interpretation results of the questionnaire. Addressing the respondents was held by deputy director of one prague high school, through social networks and also by direct addressing. This part reports the information about the level of information literacy with sense of constraints that results contains. Explanatory power of the results of the questionnaire survey is mentioned in the conclusion of this thesis.

The diploma thesis raises the question of how to live differently and suggests living in the Swiss city of Lausanne. The master plan contains the basic parameters, 5,500 inhabitants, 3,000 jobs, 550,000 m2 of gross floor area. Housing is in the neighborhood of the elementary school, the design of which is thus part of the assignment. Thinking about buildings is in connection with modern standards of ecological construction. The design is based on an analysis of the environment and architectural and urban considerations about how to live well and healthily. The development of the project is shown from the concept, to a more detailed solution of the facades.

Rozvoj čtenářské gramotnosti v předškolním vzdělávání: komparace státních a soukromých mateřských škol / The reading literacy development in preschool education: A comparison between public and private presschool education

This diploma thesis deals with reading literacy in preschool education. The thesis compares the reading literacy development in public and private education. The theoretical part of this thesis presents reading literacy - definition of the concept and subsequent delimitation in different age groups with specific focus on preschool age. Next, the theoretical part of the thesis discusses selected empirical studies in the field of reading literacy, both Czech studies and international studies. The thesis further focuses on functioning of public and private preschool institutions. At the end of the theoretical part of the thesis, reading is described in terms of contents of activities in preschool institutions. Empirical part of the thesis involves qualitative research that aimed to explore how reading literacy is developed in preschool children in public and private institutions. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews with 10 participants: 5 teachers employed at state kindergartens and 5 teachers employed at private kindergartens. The obtained data were processed by the technique of open coding and analyzed using the method of card unloading. This architectural study offers a solution of the Gemini High School‘s new bulding, /Brno Lesná, the bulding site number 202/9, Vaculíkova street/, and shows a new building of a house of culture with a commercial area instead of today’s school /the bulding site number 253/. The new way of car parking and strenghtened areas of this street are included. The building and pulling down of today’s houses and buildings are devided into 2 phases. In the first phase a new barrier – free school building with a possibility of accommodation and flats is designed /building site number 202/9. This bulding has got two entrances. One from the northern part is for a school and the second one in the west is for the tenants. The school area is spread among the first and the third floor (classrooms, canteen, offfices). The fourh floor is used for students‘ accommodation and for a terrace entrance. There are some flats (2+1, 3+ small kitchen, max. area 120 m) from the fifth to the tenth floors. In the underground the are some tenants‘ cellars and technological rooms for school. The renewed car parking for all the tenants, school visitors and others is provided in Vaculíkova street. After the firt phase of building the new school project will go into the second part. In that time the old school will be pulled down and a new house of culture is designed in this place. There will be restaurant, commercial area, cinema, library – café and gym – fitness. On the first floor there are a restaurant, a library – café a cinema. On the second floor there are a gym – fitness and a commercial area. Car parking for the visitors is provided in the underground - 52 cars + 4 handicapped people. The green roof of this house is designed to be comfortable to watch it from the neighbourhood and do not damage the look of this new building. The aim of diploma’s thesis is a design od school house, exactly language school and english kindergarten. It’s a new building, designed on a flat plot no.873/21 in cadastre unit Horni Herspice, in a Brno’suburb. The language school is intended to accommodate 41 students. Kindergarten is for education preschool children. Kindergarten is designed for total capacity of 40 children. The building was designed in a rectangular shape without cellar. It is a two-storey masonry system. Both parts of the building were designed so that students and children do not meet. A schoolmaster office is located on the second floor. The building was designed from sand-lime bricks KM Beta. The thermal insulation is made from external thermal insulation composite systems ETICS, floor structure is from ceramic-concrete precast floor slabs. The major part of the flat roof structure is double-layered while the rest is a green single-layer construction.
