The thesis is aimed at finding if the ninth-year students (both girls and boys) of selected basic schools have been affected by gender stereotypes, and if the gender stereotypes approach their ideas, perception and decision making. Besides gender concept, the theoretical part also includes chapters related to gender theories, attitudes, gender stereotypes, equal opportunities for men and women in occupation, and the role of men and women in a family. The central chapter deals with topics of gender and education. The practical part of the thesis is focused on determining students'attitudes towards gender area. Using questionnaire inquiry, the author has got data from 204 students (both girls and boys). The obtained data were faced with finding from the relevant literature.

The thesis focuses on theme of cultural identity of Mexican Americans. The introduction is based on the common history of Mexico and the United States of America (the question of the immigration, the Chicano Movement, Chicano Spanish). Attention is paid to the conception of Mexican American literature and essayistic, poetic and narrative work of Tomás Rivera, the major representative of the Chicano movement literature. The most important part of this work consists of the analysis of some peculiar motives in Rivera's cycle ...And the Earth Did not Devour Him, that create a picture of Mexican American life (the motive of religion, despair, journey, etc.). To understand the integrity of Mexican American literature, (i.e. the literature of the Chicano Movement and the Chicana literature) Rivera is compared with Roberta Fernández's novel in six stories Fronterizas. 1

The following text deals with the problem of the representation of female characters in Arthur Schnitzlerʼs work. The initial point of the interpretation is the basic division of the literary types of the turn of the century into femme fatale, femme fragile and femme enfant. Based on the analysis of seven selected works (Märchen, Liebelei, Reigen, Frau Berta Garlan, Fräulein Else, Traumnovelle, Therese. Chronik eines Frauenlebens) it discusses their position in the narrative structure. In the end, it comments the question of the typification of these figures and Schnitzlerʼs tendency to relate them to concrete groups.

Mateřství u žen s mentálním postižením / Mothers with intellectual disabilities

The thesis deals with the phenomenon of motherhood for women with intellectual disabilities. The first chapter of the thesis is devoted to the question of who are parents with intellectual disabilities and how their own personality influences their motherhood. The second chapter is concentrated on formal and informal sources of help that mothers with intellectual disabilities receive abroad. The third chapter aims to concentrate on existing system providing help to people with mental illness in the Czech Republic. The last part of the thesis presents a research project whose aim was to analyze the current situation of women-mothers with intellectual disabilities and understand how these women perceive their addressed motherhood and identify problems that women deal with during their pregnancy and motherhood. The research also describes what kind of support they receive. During the project was used a qualitative research which methods are presented by interviews. The research is based on analysis of interviews with four mothers with intellectual disabilities, which are further processed by using The Grounded Theory. Title: Evaluation of the most frequent injuries in elite women basketball players in the Czech Republic Problem specification: Basketball is nowadays one of the most popular collective sport games in the world. In elite sports generally we can see many acute injuries as well as overfreight injuries and basketball is not the exception. At its beginnings, basketball was considered as a non-contact sport, but this is not true any more. This Diploma work focuses on evaluation of the most frequent injuries in elite women basketball players in the Czech Republic. Objective: Objective of this Diploma work is to evaluate most frequent injuries and evaluate level of regeneration and compensating instruments by basketball teams, who played EXCELSIOR Women basketball league. Methods: This Diploma work uses a method called non-standardized questionnaire. Information were get from individual women basketball teams that played in 2011/2012 season EXCELSIOR Women basketball league. There were analyzed 127 questionnaires on the whole. Results: Results shows that one of the most frequent injury by players playing EXCELSIOR Women basketball league is injury of ankle. Trends and patterns of reproductive behaviour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland Abstract The main goal of this diploma thesis is to analyse fertility trends in the (former) German Democratic Republic, the (former) Federal Republic of Germany, Austria and Switzerland after Second World War to 2010 and attitudes of population of the countries above towards parenthood and the changing roles of men and women. German-speaking countries belong to countries with long-term low fertility level, however each country has its own specific reproductive behavior due to historical development. Analysis of fertility is focused on describing the trends of the number of live births and the proportion of children born outside marriage, total fertility rate, cohort fertility, fertility rates by age and the mean age of women at childbirth. Attitudes of respondents towards parenthood and the changing roles of men and women were analyzed based on international survey, European Values Study 2008, by statistical methods - chi-square test and factor analysis. Further, the thesis deals with family policy in German-speaking countries with a focus on current measures. The main findings of this thesis are summarized in the final chapter.

Diploma thesis deals with theme of family in Czech patriotic circles in the 19th century, example of family of Václav Staněk, Doctor of Medicine and patriot. Václav Staněk was a friend of Josef Frič and František Ladislav Čelakovský, their families were very close. While Fritč's and Čelakovský's families appear very often in different works about 19th century, Staněk's family was almost forgot. This thesis deals with public activities of the family, in the time before the revolution 1848 it's the Czech "salon" which was also one of the first platforms for women interested in education and during the revolution in 1848 - 1849 the engagement of Václav Staněk at parliament in Vienna and Kroměříž. Thorough attention is paid to the family connections among members of the family, especially to relationships between wife and husband and relationships among parents and children. The source is rich and yet not used correspondence of the family which allows insight to the political as well to the family business.

This thesis deals with gender roles and their importance for marketing on consumer markets. This thesis is based on the general premise that gender roles are dynamic, adaptive, and there may be trends of convergence. Since gender roles are ranked among cultural and social predispositions of consumers, their knowledge can be regarded as one of the major prerequisites of successful marketing orientation on consumer markets. This thesis deals with the differences of gender roles in terms of consumption in selected product categories, the use of leisure time, media behaviour and other fields. The approaches to the gender role portrayals in advertising are surveyed. Pivotal part is an extensive quantitative research on consumer perception of gender roles and consumer attitudes towards gender role portrayals in advertising.

The thesis "Gender stereotypes in the communication of retail chains on Facebook" deals with the topic of gender stereotyping in the Facebook network. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the theoretical foundations are analyzed. The introductory part of the thesis introduces new media, their theoretical basis and history, and then defines the social network Facebook, on which this work focuses. The thesis focuses on gender and gender stereotypes, specifically the gender stereotyping of women. The aim of this thesis is to transfer the outlined theoretical basis, which focuses primarily on new media and gender stereotypes, into practice and to analyze the presence of female gender stereotypes on Facebook pages on the Czech market that primarily target the female audience. Specifically, it is examined whether and how retail chains use female gender stereotypes to communicate, frequency and what types of female stereotypes are most common, and whether the use of gender stereotyping of women changes over time. At the same time, the work also focuses on women's autostereotypes, specifically how women respond to the presence of female gender stereotypes in Facebook communication and whether there is a visible difference from communication without using gender stereotyping of women.

The presented diploma thesis deals with Anežka Hodinová - Spurná 's media image (1895 - 1963) in the period during WWII and after WWII. The final reference is dated after the year 1989. The aim of this thesis is found how the politician, the MP of the National Assembly and the long-time member of the Communistic Party was presented to the public in representative periodicals. The data for the analysis were gained by studying her personal fund in the National Archive in Prague which contains twenty-eight cardboards and it has not been arranged so far. Then it was used materials from the Archive of the Law-Enforcement Agencies and also materials of Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic which were made accessible to the public. The gained relevant data were examined by the help of the content-qualitative analysis. The basic research quastion is how Hodinová - Spurná was presented to the public until 1963 and after 1989. The content of this thesis is to introduce briefly Hodinová - Spurná 's life and work and deal with her media image to the general public in time-restricted periods.
