In this paper, the main approaches to cost management and the problems associated with their use are identified and summarized. The main stages and patterns of development of the theory and methods of cost management are considered. The emphasis is placed on the most appropriate methods of cost management with the possibility of their actualization and further application in industrial enterprises in today's economic and technological conditions.
