獨立會計師的貢獻，在於給予財務報表信用，對財務報表實施審查。對會計師而言， 其有將其審查的性質和意見，傳送予財務報表使用人，方能稱為有效的溝通。 學者一般認為審計報告具有溝通上的缺陷，國內在這方面的研究尚不多見，本論文的 主要內容，則係針對這項課題： 一、討論溝通理論的基本觀念。 二、實證研究投資者對於審計報告中的用辭和觀念的了解程度。 三、依實證的結果，並參考有關文獻，重新檢討現行的審計報告是否需要修正。
