Anknytning : - dess betydelse för individens personlighetsutvecklng och förhållningssätt till relationer.

Alvebris, Maria January 2008 (has links)

Ågren, Ulrika January 2009 (has links)
<p>The aim of this study is to widen our knowledge about the basic idea about having an open preschool for adopted children as understood by parents of adopted children and a preschool teacher. Sweden has a large number of international adoptions, in an international comparison among the highest numbers of adoptions per capita. Interviews were carried out with seven adoptive parents and one preschool teacher teaching at a special preschool for adopted children. It was found that adoptive parents had no particular problems with placing their children in an "ordinary" preschool. However, they choose to place the children in an open preschool solely for adopted children because of the possibility of sharing similar experiences as parents and children as well. Activities at "Drippen" preschool were found mostly to be supportive of the adoptive parents. The interviewed preschool teacher was of the opinion that caring bodies such as Children's Health Centers and other similar institutions needed to develop a better understanding of both adoptive parents and their adopted children concerning developmental processes on their arrival in Sweden. Furthermore, the preschool teacher regarded Preschool "Drippen" as being like any other school except for the fact that children who attend there arrive with the experience of a significant separation, and thus ought be treated as infants regardless of their age on arrival. Because of this, the open preschool for adopted children tends to focus a great deal on establishing emotional connections with the adopted children and working with their language and physical development. Key words: adoption, attachment, identity, discrepancy, solidarity, foreign adoptions.</p>

The Roles of Attachment, Depression, and the Working Alliance in Predicting Treatment Outcomes in Chronic Pain Patients Seeking Physical Therapy Services

Bliss, Ethan Loper 23 September 2009 (has links)
Psychosocial variables such as attachment style, depression and the working alliance were examined as predictors of treatment outcomes in the context of chronic pain patients receiving physical therapy. Four treatment outcomes were examined: change in pain severity, change in pain interference, patient satisfaction with physical therapy services and patient compliance with treatment recommendations. A model of the interplay between depression and chronic illness presented by Katon (2003) was used as a framework for the current model. Two main hypotheses were suggested. (1) The working alliance is positively related to treatment outcomes. (2) Depression is negatively associated with treatment outcomes. Data were gathered at three outpatient rehabilitation clinics and the physical therapy unit of a multidisciplinary pain clinic in two Midwestern cities. A total of 59 subjects participated and regression analyses found evidence supporting both main hypotheses. The working alliance was found to be positively correlated to the change in pain severity, the change in pain interference, patient satisfaction and patient compliance. Depression was found to be negatively correlated to the change in pain interference, patient satisfaction and patient compliance. Implications for physical therapists working with chronic pain patients include clinical recommendations for developing a good working alliance and screening for depression.

Emotional Intelligence and Coping Styles: Exploring the Relationship Between Attachment and Distress

Burns, Victoria 28 July 2011 (has links)
The current study examined the roles of emotional intelligence (attention, clarity, and repair) and coping styles (reactive and suppressive) in the relationship between adult attachment and interpersonal and psychological distress. Participants were 233 undergraduate students from a Southeastern university who completed a battery of self-report questionnaires, including the Outcome Questionnaire-45.2 and the Inventory of Interpersonal Problems. This study utilized latent structural equation modeling in order to explore the well-established link between adult attachment and distress. Results support the notion that both emotional intelligence and coping styles are important variables to include when conceptualizing the relationship between attachment style and psychological and interpersonal distress. Whereas avoidant attachment was found to distinctively relate to emotional intelligence, anxious attachment uniquely related to coping style. Lastly, emotional intelligence and coping styles directly related to psychological and interpersonal distress. Research and clinical implications are discussed.

Predicting Student Perceptions of School Connectedness: The Contributions of Parent Attachment and Peer Attachment

Dixon, Jennifer Anne 14 December 2007 (has links)
This study explored the relationship between attachment quality and school connectedness in a high school sample of adolescents. Although there is a literature related to adolescent attachment quality and its effects on adjustment and development, relatively little attention has been paid to the relationship between parent and peer attachment and school connectedness. Further, these attachments and connections have yet to be examined among general and special education populations. Attachment quality has been correlated with identity development, self-esteem, competence, and psychopathology and has been investigated as a mediator in the relation between risk and resilience. School connectedness centers around the theory that when adolescents perceive consistent personal power, attention, and praise, they develop a sense of attachment to their school environment. Further, school connectedness, attachment to family, and positive peer bonds, respectively, have been viewed as protective factors, i.e., preventing adolescents from engaging in health risk behaviors (i.e., violence, risky sexual behavior, drug use, and dropping out of school) (U.S. Department of Education, 2006). The present study included 157 students, aged 15 to 18 years who participated in a longitudinal study (The Longitudinal Study of Co-morbid Disorders in Children and Adolescence). Using quantitative methodologies, analyses examined the relationships among gender, ethnicity, risk status and parent attachment, peer attachment, and school connectedness. Measures included self-report questionnaires of attachment quality and school connectedness in adolescence. Several major findings from the present investigation include: (1) higher ratings of attachment to parents were associated with higher ratings of school connectedness; (2) higher ratings of attachment to peers were associated with higher ratings of school connectedness; (3) students at risk reported less school connectedness than not at risk students; and (4) the effects of peer attachment on school connectedness were moderated by risk group.

Pelotas as seen through the eyes of its street children. : An empirical investigation of the child-friendliness of a midsize Brazilian city

Lehtikunnas, Katri January 2009 (has links)
Lehtikunnas, Katri Johanna (2009). Pelotas as seen through the eyes of its street children. An empirical investigation of the child-friendliness of a midsize Brazilian city. Human Geography, advanced level, master thesis for master exam in Human Geography, 30 ECTS credits. Supervisor: Maria Nordström Language: English   The aim of this study was to understand the lives of the street children in Pelotas in Southern Brazil. Utilizing multi-method approach I have outlined normal days of these children. Observation, semi-structure interviews individually and in focus groups and walking tours with twelve street children provided vast knowledge about the geographies of their activities and locational choices. This study illustrates the picture the street children have of their city. The conceptual framework of this study is based on the concepts of child-friendly cities and attachment to place. The results analyzed by using these concepts reveal the extremely challenging situation of street children in the margin of society. Settings for a good and balanced life may be there, but actualization of those settings is trivial. Abuse, violence, drugs, discrimination and misunderstanding frame their everyday life. Possibilities to live a normal life are minimal. In this light child-friendliness of Pelotas is evaluated. Based on the results, I claim that these concepts cannot be directly applied to street children. To be able to improve the livelihoods of these children a key tool is cooperation with them. The projects need to be designed and planned with them, not for them. Collaboration between the children and the mainstream society is needed to get sustainable results.

Akut omhändertagande av det nyfödda barnet : Pappors upplevelser

Larsson, Helena, Andersson, Jenny January 2013 (has links)
Nyckelord: Anknytning, delaktighet, KASAM, neonatalavdelning, / Summary Background: Today fathers are present during acute care of his newborn child and have an important role in the care of the newborn child. Closeness between child and parent is essential to promote wellbeing, attachment and bonding. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to describe what fathers' experience in acute care of their newborn baby. Method: Ten fathers of newborn children, where the child after the birth has been in need of emergency care and hospitalization in a neonatal department, have been interviewed. The interviews have been analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Result: The main category was: Going from chaos to control. The underlying categories that emerged were (1) fear of the unknown, (2) inadequacy in relation to himself and others, (3) unreality in the new situation, (4) participation in the care of his baby and (5) trust of health care staff. Conclusion: Fathers were initially afraid, felt inadequate and experienced the situation as unreal. Using proprietary and extrinsic resources, including pediatric nursing care and information, the fathers found at different phases a sense of ownership and confidence in the care that led to a greater sense of coherence, in other words Salutogenesis. Keywords: Attachment, Neonatal unit, Participation, Salutogenesis,
